The interview you mention was taken out of context by the daily mail! Every other paper took it as a mistranslation. Karanka will lead us into the premier league and gibson backs his managers.

Pellegrini will be replaced at the end of the season. While their aren't any more games for Man City, the season is not yet over. Same for the other manager's mentioned (except Paul Trollope), as they are about going forward and not 'with immediate effect' (unless replacements are named and mentioned as started immediately).

With that in mind, Hughton is currently 33rd.
