Brighton / Hove actually
The psychology of the game tomorrow is fascinating. Birmingham aren’t going to roll over for them and Karanka is leaving anyway. I doubt he will want to extend his stay for the playoffs so he might throw the kitchen sink at it. Massive game for them and we will see how good they really are.

It's all so simple.
Whatever Boro do to Brum, we have to do to Derby plus 2 goals. We can then go for a draw at Boro (not my fav option though, sitting back and defending).
If Boro draw then we need to beat Derby 2:0 and draw at Boro.
If Boro lose we need to wallop Derby because we can then lose at Boro by a couple and still go up.
Oh wait, I forgot about Burnley.
It doesn't matter. If we finish above Boro we are up.

I'm amazed that anybody would be happy for their team to take place in a fix in the final game in what has been the most compelling season I can remember being involved in.

A fix would be a pre-arranged plan to engineer a result. Playing out a draw is 2 sides starting a game not knowing what the other is doing, but both playing not to concede a goal, and as the game progresses both realise the other is not taking any attacking risks.

There is a huge difference between the two.

Most of us want Middlesbrough to lose ( and lose big ) tonight, which would rule that out anyway.

If we can swing the goal difference 4 goals our way this bank holiday, we can still go up with a 1-0 defeat at Riverside.

This is what I am hoping for. Birmingham to win by a few goals!

Can't see Burnley losing to QPR so the final day draw permutation won't happen anyway.

Anything can happen. Just look at results from the last 2 games of any previous seasons, last season especially. Teams who'd been crap all year, safe from relegation pulling an end of season performance out of the bag. You just can't call it at this point. Birmingham, QPR, Derby and Charlton all have massive potential to impact the top 2.

Decent id imagine... cant see us knocking 4 past Derby... id be happy with a 1-0!!

maybe Boro 1-0 and 3-0 to us = draw at boro and go up - bit more realistic!!

This is Derby we are talking about. 3-0 feels very optimistic.

I'll be delighted with a victory of any sort.

1-0 off Dunk's backside in the last minute.

I fully expect Boro to win 3-0 or a similar result like that. Birmingham aren't exactly a great side.

I think that's the safe assumption. That way at least you're due a potential surprise if Birmingham do us a favour, opposed to being bitterly disappointed when Dave Nugent bundles a header home in 90+4 to win it for them.

very true - at the moment id prob take a draw and be happy knowing we still "just" need to win at boro.

my fear is a 1-0 or 2-0 win along with a boro 2-0 or 3-0 win tonight and all of a sidden we need to beat boro 5-0 :(
