I didn't go tonight. Was it the fact we were poor or that we played one of the better teams in the division that just stopped us getting going?

They came and did a job, and did it very well. Quietened down the crowd in the first 15 minutes, were negative for the rest of the first half, and clever about it. They came out a bit more in the second half, and were better than us. Of our front six (including the three substitutions), only Murphy showed any quality.

We were missing the one that bears his teeth, and he was replaced by someone who is quite clearly long in the tooth.

Are we a 1 player team ?

We can only see that as a point gained. We did not threaten Wednesday at all. They cancelled us out easily and looked more dangerous than us going forward. I wouldn't fancy facing them in the playoffs

Questions must be asked of why Sidwell was started ahead of Kayal at home when we're chasing promotion. Hughton has to provide an answer on that one.

CH said Kayal has played a lot of games and was resting or something like that. These players need their rest nowadays! Sounds like he was playing safe to start with, i was surprised he didn't bring on Kayal around the 70 mark instead of Wilson, it sounded like Sidders needed a rest!

Sheffield Weds came with a game plan tonight of simply stopping us dead in our tracks outside the penalty area and did so every time,
and would have probably been told to just try a smash and grab job on us and it nearly worked too.
Dreadful passing from us tonight and one shot on goal by Lua Lua.
Worst game at home for a fair while now. Total inability to to penetrate their defence at all.

Can I suggest that it might just be that he's carrying an injury and it needs to be rested. If he played and aggravated it and missed a number of subsequent games, would you be requiring an answer too?

Why even stick him on the bench if he's injured? Hughton got it wrong for me.

A difficult game. They had their tactics and we couldn't find our way through it. Of course we missed Kayal to spin and dart and get that bit of space, but Wednesday were a difficult team to break down and Bannan bossed things in midfield. There'll be games like that. Didn't concede, so on to the next one.

The Good: Goldson. Dunk (barring his attempted OG from the halfway line). The defensive work of the full backs.

The Bad: Ineffective wingers both of whom were outnumbered immediately upon receiving the ball. Zamora.

The Ugly: Stephens: his worst game for us. The entire team's passing. The lofted chips centrally towards Hemed/BZ.

And Sidwell was the worst of all. Dire performance.

However my pie was lovely.
