JUST because its in the T&C's does not mean the club will automatically win a court case. As an extreme hypothetical, if they put in the T&C's "we may decide to kill you", this would not absolve them of murder.

They've moved a third of home fixtures for TV games and I think there is a definite case for compensation considering the sheer volume of games moved not because of weather, or cup games, but for the irrelevance of showing the game on TV, and there may well be courts who think that the club should make some kind of refund - especially because the club is profiting from the move

The court would take into consideration other mitigation, such as the club giving reasonable notice to changes, factors outside of the clubs control such as TV companies making the change. Add to that the fact you buy a season ticket that clearly states subject to change as well as the fact when you buy it, you do not have a clue when the fixtures are for the next season

Bring back Burke and Hyppia. No way they would have allowed players or results to be good enough for Sky to be aware we even exist. Barber out.

Football was and is traditionally a Saturday afternoon game

So traditional that Liverpool's groundbreaking fanzine ; "When Sunday Comes" a pisstake on the fact that their fixtures were always moved from Saturday (and a play on "When Saturday Comes") was first published nearly 28 years ago.

Football was and is traditionally a Saturday afternoon games hence the fixture list shows them as being on a Saturday other than midweek games. What it needs is the supporters association taking a club/sky to court as a test case.

I disagree - it's no longer a sat 3pm sport.

And good look with that - it's in the tickets T&Cs and everyone knows the risks.

I am sure everyone would be happier, if we were rubbish again languishing in L1 with no sky games whatsoever.
Perhaps the fans should fight back against our promotion push because if we get to the Prem it will get worse!

That's not the point (of this thread). The constant moving of fixtures is shit, but that's what we sign up for when we buy season tickets.

The more successful we are, the more times we will be moved. We all want the team to win every game so, by definition, we accept the fact that we might have to play a few games at times that won't be convenient.

No-one likes it, and until there is a widespread uprising against the money-men, that's the way it is.

Its exactly the point, that sth holders don't get compensation if fixtures are moved and that seems unfair. If instead, 3 or 4 fixtures were moved to say, Wednesday morning at 10, you wouldn't get all these people defending the T&C's, but because it's just clashing with people who work Saturday mornings, they're expected to take the financial loss and shut up about it.

The Reading game has been moved again! I had already cancelled going to a concert because of the Saturday game. Then it was moved to the Friday because of TV by which time the concert had sold out. Now it's been moved to the following Tuesday. I have arranged a short holiday that week which now means I will miss the game altogether. My wife had deliberately arranged the holiday so that it fitted in with the football schedule. As a season ticket holder I'm thoroughly p.......d off to say the least!

When you did all this, were Reading, or for that matter, ourselves, still in the cup?

Edit: By the way, it's easily done. I got married on a Friday to avoid missing a potential game but it turned out to be an international weekend and the Albion's game was brought forward to the Friday. Fortunately it was away to Northampton so not a great miss. Allowed me to watch England stuff Germany 5-1 on the Saturday!!

Wrong. The point is, and has been made on numerous occasions by various posters, that everyone was aware of the possibility of fixtures being switched for live games. If you now find that unacceptable then don't renew your season ticket next year and just go to the games that you can make. In future, don't enter into any contract if you don't like the terms of that contract.

It seems to me that there are a very small minority starting numerous threads and making a lot of noise about an issue that most don't necessarily like but are prepared to accept. Without the Sky money match tickets would probably be another £8 more expensive or, we stop trying to sign players like Kayal, Knockhaert etc etc. Oh, no doubt there would be threads from the same bunch bemoaning that we aren't competing in the transfer market.

Finally, as for this 'traditional 3pm kick off' slot, can someone please explain what time kick offs were when there were no floodlights? The first floodlit league game was not until 1955 but not sure when the first Albion floodlit game was. Surely before floodlights, a lot of games would have kicked off at 2pm on a Saturday!!!

What a bunch of whiners some on here are! When you sign up for a ST surely you are aware that games are liable for change due to Sky. This isn't a new phenomenon! God help some of you if we did get promoted as the situation will just get worse!

Not if we are near the bottom of the PL, I'm sure Sky won't be interested then.

I think most of us know that games will be moved, I honesty didn't think we would be on Sky this many times.

Any clue as to what you are referring to?

The original thread title people possibly seeking compensation for the fixtures being disrupted and not being able to see the games.
Absolute insanity.
What will it be next ? Sue the club because their enjoyment was spoiled, becuase the team didn't win every match they played ?
Someone go hit by a piece of inch long flying turf ?
