Yes. I like sports (American football, cricket, both rugby codes and 'round ball' football in that order) so it makes sense.

This is all down to different perspectives but I don't understand those who say it's expensive. I've got one of the basic Sky packages, and then I added two Premium channels (Sports and Movies) to it. The way it's priced if you have one Premium channel then you may as well have the other as it's 'only' about another £12 or so. Therefore if I were to cancel Sky Sports I'd save myself about £12 a month as my wife still wants the Movies. And even if you don't agree with my figures and/or reasoning and say that really Sky Sports costs £25-£30 a month - so what? That's the price of a mere 90 minutes of football at the Amex! Without a pie and a pint!

Like I say it's all down to opinion and personal choices. I know there are people who think that the Amex match ticket prices are 'reasonable' and that the food and drink prices are 'reasonable' whereas I think they are both eyewateringly and offputtingly expensive. Those same people doubtless think I'm mad when I say that I think Sky Sports is excellent value for money, and I'd continue to subscribe even if it were £50 a month.

I think one can be considered a devoted hobby and the other a luxury. I love football, but I only really care about one team enough to break the bank.

I have all the sports on SKY and BT as part of my Virgin package although I've BINNED the movies and extras now as the prices rises were getting too much. I've had SKY since it was on Redifusion cable back in the 80's and people forget how shit TV sports were before SKY came along

DICKIE Davies and the rest of our GENERATION may BEG to differ.

You just can't BEAT a bit of lumberjack LOG rolling and POLE climbing followed by some grapple ACTION, a bit of SPEEDway and loads of BANGER racing.

SHAME on you for SUGGESTING any different.

Nope but I do give them money via NowTV when the Albion are on and I can't make the game. £6.99 a game and I have probably watched three this season. I'll be signing up for the Cardiff game too

As my wife was unwell and given four decent games were on I invested £6.99 in a Now TV day pass yesterday, something I would normally only do infrequently for a televised Albion game. If I subscribed to the full service I wouldn't get to watch enough to make it worthwhile

Yeah, that was rather my point; you think that (fair enough), whereas my view is the opposite of yours. For me these days Albion games are a luxury (rather like going to a West End show), and whilst I wouldn't call Sky Sports a 'devoted hobby' a large part of my viewing time is spent watching it. I'd watch it even more if I had anything other than a very minor, passing interest in the Premier League.

You should sign up to stream box TV if your paying that much. It's half the price and you get a lot more.

My daughters boyfriend works for Sky Sports so I get the lot for less than £40 a month

I don't think I'd bother if it wasn't that cheap

No - just can't justify the cost.

We do have Netflix and Amazon Prime, although mainly for the kids. Also BT Sports - not sure if we actually have to pay for that or not. It gets used about once a month when I remember it.

Same.. well just Netflix and BT Sports actually.
I have occasionally bought a day pass on Now TV for an Albion game.

Yep me too, although I have binned sky sports as well as the movies. I have BT sports and hardly watch it!

Up your alley
I watch a lot of tennis, golf, cricket and football on Sky Sports, great pictures and analysis.
Package includes Eurosport which I watch sometimes, e.g. Australian Open tennis recently.
My father is able to watch also using Sky Go on his laptop as part of my package (although that's cheating really) so great value overall.

Only got Sky Sports about 3 years ago when stopped playing local football
Prior to that never really had it apart from when flat-sharing
Am sports junkie so it is great value for money plus wager a lot on different sports so viewing is essential

Interesting to see the number of people on NSC who have cancelled their subscription in the past year or so. I see that Sky subscription are generally falling so that's in line with national trends

I can't imagine Rupert's panicking just yet but I wonder at what point Sky start get worried

Big upside to not living in the Uk is you get all the Saturday 3pm kick offs. NBCs coverage is excellent. Doesn't replace the thrill of live games 3500 miles away though

BeinSports however is so amateurish it's laughable.
