Boro get quite a bad rap (well from some precious souls anyway) for empty seats at The Riverside, but it's, as you say, because of the way the cameras are set up. It's a bit similar to the Amex where the cameras are situated in the triple tier main stand shooting towards the usually more sparsely populated East Stand.

Derby certainly don't have any excuses. Spent a fortune on their squad. However just because you have a really strong squad on paper doesn't mean they are going to gel. It can create a divisive dressing room. As others have observed they look like a group of individuals rather than a 'team'. You do wonder if there are doubts in the back of their minds having blown it in recent seasons.
No wonder there are allegations (subsequently denied) that the Owner had a rant at the manager and players in the dressing room. Must niggle that little Bournemouth swept their way to the PL while Derby with all of their resources contrived to make a complete bollox of it.
'Boro have also spent big but currently look more cohesive than Derby.
Either way there is no divine right to promotion.

I'm not talking them down - for the size of the place, the proximity to Newcastle & Sunderland, some indifferent seasons and the economic hardship of the area, the attendances stand up OK.

I think its easy to be harsh on Derby because of their twitter fans, but that represents a very small proportion of their support.
In general I think they are well run club with passionate fans.
I too was disappointed when they didn't go up last year, mainly because I knew they would be competition for us this season.
Would like to see them do badly just because it will help our chances, but otherwise I have nothing against them. Ditto Middlesborough.
Leeds and Reading though can **** off.

Yep, I never understand that. I'm sure there is some rational reason. I would have thought an angle that shows a full stadium would be preferential.
As for Boro, they deserve to go up based upon how they played against us. A footballing lesson that night. Good luck to them.

The only reason I'd want any team to do badly is if they're competition for us - apart from Palace, that is. They can **** off.
However, out of all the top 6 i think the team i'd least like to go up is Hull, and that's only because they're a perennial yo-yo club, i'd like to see another team give it a go.

It`s getting really exciting now. There was the top six now with the emergence of Wednesday,Ipswich and Birmingham it`s becoming the top 8.
Really can`t see Hull imploding, their a tight unit and expect them to finish top two.
Burnley seem to be very consistent at the moment so they might be the dark horses.
Boro looked very strong against us so have been surprised by their recent demise.
It was interesting that Derby didn`t throw too much at the January window, was it just Blackman they signed?

Apparently not only did the chairman steam into the dressing room and RANT at the players, he also cancelled their mid-season trip to Dubai in a fit of pique. So they're sulking. Classy outfit.
This is pretty much where I am. Your comments on Leeds and Reading are also a nice touch I am happy to agree with. Especially Reading, who I would love to see relegated.
I trust you gave Dirty Leeds a friendly welcome.
The Parmo is fantastic at the Riverside, although hate to think what it does to anyone with a coronary condition.
Best team we have played this season, Gibson is to Boro what Bloom is to Brighton.

I liked Derby when they had Clough, went off them when the wally was there and like them again now.
Plus I like loads of their players; Russel, Thorne, Buxton, Keogh, Martin, Butterfield; all quality.

Never had anything against Derby until the game at theirs in December when their fans were total muppets.
Hull play most of the top 11 in the next month or so. Fingers crossed!

I don't like Derby and I don't LIKE Boro, both clubs THINK that they can FLING millions at the transfer market and they will go up
They signed Martin Olsson and a winger from the French league as well.
I don't mind Boro, but I do mind Derby.
Derby had some injuries to some of their class central midfielders at the beginning of the season including Hughes. Instead of some sensible loans to cover, they spooged millions on Butterfield & Johnson. They now seem to be benching some of their star performers like Bryson; with Bent not even making their squad now - I can't envisage a happy dressing room.
