Pompey (send help!)
I did 3 years at Newcastle Uni (left in 2009)! There were a few other Albion fans at the uni too - similarly went to Hartlepool, Leeds and Carlisle away with a small group of us.

What course and hall? Naval Architecture and Leazes Parade here.

Struggle to get back up regularly but I've represented the company at a careers fair for the last 3 years, each and every time has been the day before a home game, it's an early start and long old slog but have always made it back before Mill Road has filled up! Npt sure I'd want to make it a round trip though.

The most curious thing..
I have been up for interviews......stayed in Morecambe their first time and soon realised it was worse than Hastings!!!!!! And to be fair it has put a huge dent on me wanting to make the move seeing how shit that place was!
You can safely ignore Morecambe. I spent a year there a long time ago (never again). It does have an amazing view across the bay though. Lancaster itself is fine (although possibly a little damp at the moment).

I saw the view looked really good, but I just couldn't get my head around the place, it seemed like it was stuck in a time warp. Lancaster seemed really nice, will it seem very different from a born and bred sussex chap??

Not local anymore but I did four years at Newcastle Uni (left in 2010 so things may have changed); Spy bar on Osbourne Road in Jesmond used to be happy to stick televised games on if requested, likewise the Londsdale next to West Jesmond Metro. The only away trip I managed while I was there was Hartlepool but didn't see any other Albion fans at the station post-match heading back north.

Youre bringin back some memories with the name of those pubs. Many a bight in there in my student days as i lived in Jesmond

I was there in the early 1980s so it has changed a lot since then. It took a while to get used to, but once in the north I never went back south (see location left).

Nice advice........Where abouts are you? On the times I have been I have noticed Lancaster is a real pain to get into in the morning, could cope with a 20 min commute. Would love a village location any tips?? Cheers

Recently moved up to Newcastle (heard all the jokes).

Any fans up this way at all? Keen to hit a few away games without always travelling alone, or watch the televised games.

I'm at uni in Newcastle doing a Master's. Living in Benwell just outside the city centre, and it's nice to know I'm not alone up here :bigwave:

Studied economics and marketing, and lived in Henderson Hall in the 1st year.

Moved back up to the North East about a year ago.

Welcome to the north east Geestar! I came to university in 1989 and stayed and whilst I miss Sussex I love it up here. I live in Whitley Bay and try to get to two or three away games a season. My two boys are staunch Albion despite being born here (not much point in following the Toon anyway). I know a couple of other local Albion fans from Morpeth and Whitley Bay. There are a few of us about. Happy to link up for away trips nothing worse than going alone
