Would like to know more about this story, not heard this before.
But you have said " Why are Whitehawk trying to shaft Ringmer for 30k"
Also " Lost the case" Did it go to court?

Named after a NSC regular I guess.

I'm with you on keeping their name as it is. Whitehawk is a great name and far better than Brighton City.

Apparently the owners of whitehawk( the skip co) had a deal with a former chairman of ringmer fc but the new owners of ringmer reformed it as a different company say rfc 2013 after tbey went into administration and the old rfc only owned the clubhouse and not the pitch this is all i heard anyhow so no harm done to ringmer . I suppose it may of been a bit like the albion but on a much smaller scale. You may be able to find stuff on line about court cases but i couldnt even tell u what court it was heard in.

Why not call themselves Hawkers and become only the 3rd English club to not have a geographical football club name?

It would make me buy a season ticket.

I can think of Port vale, where is the other?

edit: guessing Arsenal

I actually like Whitehawk as a name, although probably more for a heavy metal band than a football club.

But the best reason for keeping it is that chant they have at the Enclosed Ground, to the tune of 'Sailing': - We are Whitehawk, we are Whitehawk, we are Whitehawk, from Whitehawk. I don't think any of the other names suggested would fit.

Its the City part I really don't like.
I'm set in my ways now. The pier is The Palace Pier and Brighton is a town,
Brighton Town I could vaguely get behind, though Whitehawk is still a far better name.
Rather than worry about potential new fans being put off be the reputation of Whitehawk they should dress like the Glam Metal band they sound like. Black and Gold lame kits, backcombed hair, heavy eyeliner. Replace the current drum in the stands with two full kits and have duelling drum solos. Epic.

It's obviously a while since you went. Drum? There were a dozen at least the other week, probably more.
