Does anyone else think Schweinstieger has made a massive mistake with his move?

An attractive young lady, in man-made fibres, carrying two pints is "irritating"? Baffling.
Germans are irritating full stop. Every single one I've ever met is either smugly arrogant or just a complete nerdy twunt. Just an unbelievely irritating group of personages.

Just go and live in Spain, i did, much better group of individuals. Why on earth would you choose to live surrounded by Germans? Fate worse than death in my opinion

Too many over-weight, leather skinned, sovereign ringed lasagne and chips eating Brits in Spain for my liking.

I agree, I lived in Madrid, made a point of never going to places like Benidorm. Easily avoided although don't go to Palma Dr Mallorca, absolutely packed full of Germans :)

Yep, Germany is underrated, great beer always and I mean always you will get a good plate of food for the money, Germans sound gruff but generally like the English we seem to have more in common with them than most of our european neighbours.

Returned from there only last month from yet another visit, and when asked about Schweinstieger move to Man Utd was told his best days were behind him and probably wouldnt start for Bayern if he stayed anyway and didnt last season anyway.

As an aside was intrigued and slightly in awe of their full on advertising and promotion of smoking, vending machines on each corner and in each shop not only cigarettes in prime position but big TV's advertising the virtues of this once noble habit.

Now I am not and never have been a smoker but I always have a grudging respect for any country that lives their lives through laws, not doctors or lobbyists !!!

I'm not having a go at herb tubthupper specifically. It's just every German I've met over the year's and I've met plenty and travelled through the country but I just do not get on with them. Im probably as annoying to them as they are to me. I went to live in Spain fora few years and every single Spaniard I ever met is as sound as a pound, lovely people, laid back very un-Germanic. Just a matter of preference I suppose

Half are, yes. The other half are Deutsch. Die Frau's Scouse father met her mother when he was stationed in Germany post-war. They returned to Liverpool when he left the army.

I do feel that as a whole and it doesn't apply to every single person obviously but I do feel as a whole the Brits do really connect with the Spanish. For whatever reason they compliment each other. It's not just a sunny place to visit and a cheap destination I think it's more than that and a hell of a lot of Brits just love the place, the culture, the people

Whereas I think Brits have more in common with the Germans.

ManU DOES seem to be a footballers graveyard at the current time. How on EARTH do the likes of Di Maria and Falcao and Van Persie, suddenly turn to shit?

I'm not convinced about a connection. They do compliment each other in a service industry and consumption manner but I see little real connection as such. This isn't a slight on anything or anyone though, and I don't think it matters.

It doesn't really matter no, it's just something I've noticed. We have more connection with Germany historically but in our hearts were more Spanish. We may share roots with Germany but I think we've developed quite differently
