I was there but thought it was Stoke who had to win. Miserable day but I got a free hat so not all bad.

The fat topless bloke, away to our right, who spent the entire 90 minutes goading us topless about us being relegated.

Amazing how little memories come back. I was interviewed outside that day, which as a young child made my day regardless.

You bet. I even sang "bring on the champions" at Southend (after signing him but just before we lost...)..

Yep. Was in with the home fans for that one with a mate. Mate was/is Southend. Expectations were high. Bit embarrasing really, however, we had the last laugh - as did Kuipers😃

Just evening home games for me, I was still playing myself then.

Same + usually had to work when not playing so only made a handful of games each season. Although I did not see nearly as much of Albion & Bobby as I would have liked back then I always chose playing over watching when I could.

I remember standing just in front of the south stand watching him warm up before his first game on loan from Bristol Rovers and had a gut feeling he was going to be something special

I remember saying to the lad next to me when he scored his last home goal against Watford, to enjoy it, as we wouldn't be seeing it happen again...

Never seen him play. I'm a JCL that has only just turned up :)

More importantly, were you there for his last appearance (and goal) for the Albion - a miserable afternoon away at Grimsby, which saw us get relegated...? I remember the fact we were going down was made even worse by the knowledge that Bobby would be leaving...

Not sure it's more important, but yes we were there, wasn't it Stoke doing one over Reading that meant we had no chance of staying up? Where are Grimsby now?*

*rhetorical question

Nurse nurse he's out of bed again!

What, you mean this Zammo chap was quite good and did score 83 goals for us and did play 30 times in the Premier League last year?

My great grandad used to watch him on the terraces at Hove cricket ground. They say they nicknamed him 'the dynamite' because of the goals he used to 'bang' in.

Did he play with Paul Ward our great centre forward? And was he in Grange Hill?
