[Albion] Chicken and Ham pie: OUT! (plus street food coming to the Amex)

Firstly - NO ONE WANTS COLESLAW IN A BURGER! Particularly Amex coleslaw which will have been scooped out of a jumbo catering bucket and slapped in a burger, wrapped up and left to sweat for an hour. Sounds Proper Grimbo.

Secondly- I'm pretty sure most people stopped buying frozen Chicago Town Pizzas from Bejams in about 1995, so for the club to pop up in 2015 suggesting that they represent hipster 'street' food is pure gold. I can imagine the suits sitting round their table- 'Hey guys, I hear street food is pretty trendy these days- what's street food I hear you ask- well its edgy, it's new its fresh and fast... it's... Chicago Town Pepperoni pizzas!!' HIGH FIVES ALL ROUND! 'BOOYAH!'

Maybe just stick to pies, try to get some half decent burgers together, sell beers and try to reduce the queues. I'm pretty sure that's what we'll end up with- they usually get bored of these new ideas after a couple of weeks when they realise it's actually a bit of a hassle to keep all these new ideas in stock, train up staff, run the additional outlets etc.

Burger with coleslaw and dressing but no lettuce or relish? No thanks. All they had to do was improve the quality of the burger and roll

I, for one, am genuinely excited about the cheese & onion pasty although people should be made to demonstrate their veggie credentials before buying one if stocks are low. If a carnivore in front of me grabs the last one leaving me with a choice of meaty pies, I will be fuming.

In other news, I note that "Catering prices have been frozen for the 2015/16 season" but that ignores the previous early/late eCash purchasing cashback. Hopefully there will be some similar incentives to buy early or late this coming season.

Why get rid of the chicken and ham pie? That's a massive shame for me, who used to buy one most matches. I'll give the pizza a nudge, but I'm not in favour of splashing out a fiver for a cheeseburger every game.

Does the 1901 club have better grub?

1901 get the same pies, without the big queues. Plus you can go for a sit down meal which is along the lines of a £2 tesco microwave curry and rice emptied out on to a plate which you pay about £20 for.

Yes it's good to see something as adventurous in the vegetarian market as a rival for Greggs' very own top of the range 79p pasty.
Pah. I'll eat them, gut-swellingly, but don't expect my tastebuds to be taken somewhere new.

All I want is a decent burger which the kiosk outside of the WSL provided so if that is still there they can stick their rank expensive pies etc. Having said that they would never get rich on the amount of food that I buy as I usually eat before going to a game and stop in a chippie near Brighton station on the way home.

I worry about the vegetarian option.

Last three things I brought was a Pulled Pork Bap and got a cheeseburger
A Chicken & Ham Pie, got a steak and whatever it is pie
And a pulled pork bap..... and got a pulled pork bap.

Mixing up a meat dish for a meat dish is no problem for a fat ******* like me, but getting a veggie and meat option mixed up, I could see causing some issues out there!

Amex pie roulette has always been more like Russian Roulette for us veggies, even with the advent of those little rice paper labels.

The cheese & onion pasties should remove that risk on account of them being the only pasty shaped product on offer, for now at least. As a result, I'm going all in.

See, I read that as the Chicken & Ham pie being replaced by Chicken & Chorizo for the Sevilla game only. Back on the menu after that surely?

I moved back to the chicken pie as the steak and ale had become a bit dry.

Never got a chance to try the chicken and chorizo as it was always sold out.

Going to be a tough decision.

Over expensive shit no matter which way you look at it

Of course, but go to anywhere where you have a captive audience, and you will find much the same thing. Go to a football ground somewhere north of Watford and the prices will be a little bit cheaper. But again that's much as one would expect.

Priced as you would expect at a sporta ground and quality is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than you'll get at other grounds which is the only reason I've kept buying my match by match chicken and ham pie.
