Oh my. They are absolutely BEAUTIFUL.

The more I've seen of Nike's kits, the more disappointed I am with them. We've got Southend and Hartlepools away shirt, a crap home shirt with a panel and a bloody RED third kit. I just cannot understand how putting a tick on shirts can result in record sales.

I just wish we had Umbro. That's a manufacturer who knows how to make nice shirts.

Couple of points: Of course the Nike deal is worth more than the last Errea one but how much more than the offer made by Errea for this contract? I agree about the coloured shirts-why do we need 3 shirts other than to sell as fashion items? All we need is our home kit worn until there is a clash when away. Sadly, the shirt manufacturers dictate what the team wears and when.

As I said previously, I'm glad I don't wear the poorly made polyester shirts selling for £45 made from 2 recycled large cola bottles.

it could have been a lot worse looking at some of the dross on this thread to be honest, and errea make as much shit kits as they make good kits, so we would have ended up with a stinker with them if we'd stayed regardless, inevitable

That's what happens if you allow fans, or quality designers to put something together, unfortunately Nike don't really care, so unless you are top 4 material you ain't getting one of them. Sad thing is, they do make bespoke kits for teams elsewhere in the world, it just seems to be for UK/Europe clubs which Nike won't produce the good stuff for.

I was speaking to a guy from the club last weekend who was involved in the kit process for the new away & 3rd. He told me the 3rd shirt isn't available in any of the Nike catalogues and is a bespoke design (different materials for the striped effect, round collar details etc). How true that is I don't know, but I certainly haven't seen that style or design anywhere else - although I've not looked that hard tbh. If they have gone "bespoke" for our 3rd shirt though, I'm hoping for a better effort next season with the home one...

Umbro who at one stage were owned by Nike?

I do agree with you however as some of there latest shirts, West Ham and Everton are really bloody nice.

As for the tick, do you not remember being a child, kids would want Nike ticks shaved into their head, of course putting a tick on a Brighton shirt will make it more appealing to the youth.

It also makes a difference to some adults too, I play football twice a week and most lads I play with now have at least one item of shorts or socks with a Nike tick on.

I don't know the figures but I was told it was substantially more with the Nike deal.

Agree with that generally, though NB have one or two poor efforts, the Liverpool shirt for example is a bit dull. I know there's not a lot you can do with single colour shirts, but thinking about some of the tasteful Adidas and Reebok efforts in the past, I'd have expected better. It's all opinion mind, some people like the nike stuff.
