This is where you need Tony, he doesn't give a shit about human rights. Not even the human rights of the children he keeps locked in detention centres on remote islands.

who is this dictator Tony bloke? dont you people have democratic elections?

The point was obvious, he intends to use it vigorously, compared to us, we will no doubt have to jump through so many hoops to revoke a single wanna be terrosrist, we will end up inviting them back in a tagging them, whilst the culprit has an entourage of lawyers and human rights specialists and this is the Tories.

Some on here are quick to point out it is already an option, but I suspect you lot would have absolutely no intention to use it, why I do not know but its seems to be your default position.

I would use it if the situation were proven. Sadly though this is not what Tony is proposing so it probably won't pass the senate.

Is this where i get told that democracy means that I shouldn't criticise a sitting politician as they have been voted in?

If Tony Abbott is the answer, I dread to hear the question. Biggest buffoon in politics

Its a comment on the policy and the inclination to use it, seems wholly reasonable to me, seems to me the real buffoons are the ones that have allowed unhindered spread of extreme Islam throughout Europe, probably the ones you feel are good upstanding politicians.

using such measure vigorusly on people who have not been proven to be doing the wrong thing has a good chance of making matters worse not better. Maybe this is why the UK government has erred on the side of caution before using such measures.

Yes we have elections but as with the recent UK election the people don't always get what they want.

Abbott played a blinder in opposition and capitalised on Labor's disorganisation. he rode in on a wave of a decent hatchett job which, with the help of his mates blindsided everyone in to not actually considering what his policies might be (or what a grade 1 wally he is)

What about the case highlighted in that article, where that thuggish terrorist sends his whole family to Syria? Presumably then, they're all stripped of citizenship. What happens when his wife (only guilty of following her husband, probably out of fear) wants to return to Australia with her kids fearing for their lives?

The devil is always in the detail with this sort of law.
I think youre cutting her a little too much slack there mate , she has 5 kids with him and lets face it , at any time going through all the security procedures whilst boarding a plane she could have alerted the authorities she was travelling under duress, were that the case.

yes , those wicked australians, giving food and shelter to ''asylum seekers'', who , if genuine, would surely be only too pleased to have reached safety.

Seriously? You clearly don't have much of a clue about the 'Shelter' they are given.

yes i do, and even if i didnt, if they were fleeing in fear of their lives , it would be better than where they came from.

Air your views in public.

You mean like wondering down the street with a sandwich board and yelling?

Don't judge everyone by your own standards Bushy. Most people (Australians included) can handle someone disagreeing with them or seeing things differently without resorting to swearing at them or offering them out.

Doing anything under duress is likely to foster unpredictable, muddled thinking, so no, I don't agree.
