Am I the only one who thought Bent was crap?

Well this is why I asked if he was an improvement on Best, would he really be? And who could we realistically aim for who was better than these two over priced, over rated nomads of football.

This would be a quality signing if it could be achieved, would score the required goals for us next season if we could supply him. GET HIM IN!

Probably not, but you will be in a minority group.

Bent is a proven class striker and looked as though he had his appetite back when he was with us. I'm sure there are players around with potential, and whilst we struck lucky with Ulloa can we do that again? I'd take Bent if we could afford him along with a "good prospect" who could learn from him.

Failing Bent, for the same reasons Zamora would be a good option as long as you don't expect to get 40+ games out of him in a season

That's the trick, and who would supply him? Would he be better than Best with the right service? I reckon yes, but just and is vastly overated . Having said that he would be a good signing as the only really good players we have signed is The Dagger, Leo, Murray and Bridders.

He will be highly sought after his successful loan spell with Derby.
Where is his incentive to join the team that finished 20th in the table when bigger clubs who are willing to make an educated gamble on his high wages are waiting in the wings.
A signing like Bent would seem to go against the recent Albion philosophy and strategy. Emanuel Thomas is much more our type of signing.

Would love to see him play for Brighton next year, but as others have said wages could be an issue. Why not speak to him and his agent and see what happens. We have released a few high earners so the money might be available.

In disbelief that anyone thought Bent was 'crap'. The only downside was he got caught offside too much because he's not the most energetic at tracking back. He gets into good positions and has a far, far superior chance conversion rate than any of our strikers. He won't come here though.

....or hope that our scouting network doesn't make such a pigs ear of it this time and trust they can source us TWO Ulloas for the same price as one Darren Bent.

Improvement on Best, YES! But I feel we should be aiming higher.

Like who? There's a serious case of unrealistic aspirations from fans right now. Coupled with conspiracy theories about the board's motives, it's unbelievable what's been wrote recently. Can't wait til the new season starts.

Bent will be turning 32 next season. Is there really no one better the Albion can sign?

Probably go to a successful club, like Bournmouth. :(

Too much £££££. As soon as we lost a game or two, he might well get injured again.

We need to go trawling through the overseas lower leagues for an undiscovered pearl again.

12 goals in 16 games for Derby. 2 goals in 5 games for us. A terrific record at this level. Yes please.

Though as previously suggested he's probably out of our reach.

Bent would be the equivalent of playing Best and CMS up front at the same time.
