We need radical changes at the top end of the pitch, our defenders are adequate for another season, it's going forward we need to be spending the money and prioritising. Our defence isn't the problem, it's the attack. And the criticism of Greer is massively out of proportion to the performances he puts in.

playing in the 3 today he would have been more suited to the central role
Ince might have been better in the wider role where pace is vital
wasn't impressed with halford tbh

Symptomatic of the whole problem that only Kayal, Dunk and Stephens are consistently worth their place (emphasise consistently, yes Briuno KLL etc can change games but not consistent)

He is sooo slow. It was embarassing at times watching him try to catch up with Deeney, himself quite a bulky lad. Thanks but goodbye Gordon.

Looked so far off the pace today at times, not just physically but mentally. Unable to anticipate what was happening at least 2-3 times and then far too slow to compensate.

Good guy to have around, but if he doesn't start next season it'll be interesting to see how he reacts. Reality is his time is close to being up... there's been a few games like that.

Halford isn't the answer either. Decent utility player, but not good enough to start anywhere regularly

Is the right answer.
In an ideal world the club would do the lot, but we all know that's not happening.

The thought of taking £1m, or in fact any money out of the 'attacking' unit pot to spend on a centre half would be madness.

All the defenders would be considerably better if they we're acutely aware that any mistake or half mistake is likely to cost 3 points.

Well I think he is a far better player than halford. Personally I don't think the defence is the problem, but would hope both Greer and dunk and pushed next season by a couple of new players (hopefully young rather than journey men).

Hove actually
He has for quite some time not been up to standard. He is too slow and gets caught out all too often half decent forwards. Today he was culpable for the Watford goal in the first half. Sorry to say this but the booing of him after that by elements of the crowd was in my humble opinion justified. Time to get rid of him if we can get some money for him otherwise he will be a mere bit part player next season!

did you go to the game today - the defence was woeful. I agree the strikers are shit too. we would have drawn 0-0 today if it wasn't for woeful defending. greer has lost the ability to play football or pass the ball to a team mate.

Harsh. He has been a great leader and captain to tight defences for years. Sadly that time has passed and it is time for him to either move on or be a back up centre back for us. Kayal simply has to be captain.
He's not a great leader, in fact he's a weak one.

You appear to see a different game to most.

Greer was awful today

Agreed, I think his been poor for a long time but today he managed to surpass that by some distance. Shocking.

It is worth noting the number of goals that we have conceded from mistakes or bad passes by Greer. He has been a good servant but next season cannot be considered a regular first choice unless he can get back to where he was. Our major problem t the back is lack of pace. and sadly Halford is not the answer. We either sign him or Calderon for the utility man on the bench but not both. The CBs are not helped by having 2 full backs who can get forward but cant defend.

Greer has been truly excellent for 90% of his Albion career. Sadly his time does seem to be drawing to a close.
