Gus gets the boot

My understanding is that there was a payoff. Poyet contacted the LMA and they advised him to take the offer from the Albion, rather than go through the court.

My only source is from the boardroom of another club where they were singing Bloom's praises for standing up to the "tradition" of simply paying off managers. They viewed it as a potentially important milestone.

That said, the only thing we know for sure is that we don't know.

Chelsea fans cope with their manager who has the same traits. United the same with SAF.

Gus behaved childishly in his final days, but it wasn't in his best interests for us to lose in the playoffs, from either a personal cv or financial perspective.

Thing is SAF and Mourinho have both earned the right to be arrogant; they have actually achieved great things in football. Gus hadn't and still hasn't.

Gus will turn out to be a good head coach if he can find a set up that suits him. I get the feeling that may be in Spain.

I'm sure he'll be turning up at the Amex next season with Fulham, if we both stay up.

Kama and I think Leo isn't doing bad at the moment, but looks like he will be relegated, along with Mr. Barnes and the end of the season.

You might but the man that really matters wouldn't.
As for class manager, Poyet has no class. He is boorish, petulant and self-centred. In managerial terms, he is immature and unlikely to improve. Those that claim it was the best football seen at BHA under Poyet, clearly don't go back very far.

Sounds like it's a case of history repeating for Poyet, nothing much learnt from his time to us and had sounded out other clubs about taking on the manager role...

Nothing surprising there.
Those in the Gus fan club, seem to ignore the fact that he was doing exactly the same at Brighton. Eventually, his ego just ran away with him and he saw nothing wrong in having two meetings at Reading, whilst our season was still going on. He didn't see anything wrong in indicating to Reading that he was happy to accept their offer. He didn't stop Reading holding internal meetings with players and staff, to inform that GP was going to be their next manager. He saw nothing wrong in returning to BHA, informing them of Reading's interest and expecting them to improve his terms accordingly.
Reading pulled the plug on Poyet. Brighton pulled the plug on Poyet and surprise, surprise, so have Sunderland.
The man cannot be trusted. He is an odious individual, manipulating and pulling strings to suit himself. A hand-wringing smooth ' Uriah Heap ' Chairmen keep him on a tight rein because they don't trust him. His record speaks for itself. Goodness knows how many other clubs he tried to seduce whilst at BHA. No wonder TB lost patience with him.
