Well there's a surprise. After months of protracted sick notes, followed by a couple of poor performances. And then of course not being in the right frame of mind Liam suddenly is well again. Pizzes me off that the club were paying him for that. But worse for me is that he clearly IMO was deliberately underperforming for us and sorry! that stinks!

Bridcutt gone>>>>>Ince is better
Poyet gone >>>>> dunno if he's better but I prefer OG, less mouthing off!

So bye bye, we take ur money and build. Also why is it when sunderland are on tv that the SOL always looks empty?

Poyet will start moaning about ceilings and how amazing Chelsea are pretty soon. Just a warning!

Some of you still need to get over Poyet and Co leaving! He and they have gone and I for one thank them but couldn't care a less how Sunderland do!

The 'going on strike' because 'I don't get my own way' thing has pissed me off too. Players like Bridcutt make the likes of El Abd, Gary Hart and the like more admirable.
Bridcutt has been a great player but we have replacements, funny thing is I couldn't say that about so called 'lesser' players like Greer and PIG.
So long Bridders. Forgotten already.

Where's the bad blood - I'm not sure I've seen much, if any at all?

Some will be unhappy with the manner of Bridcutt's departure - all but going on strike over the last month which slightly tarnishes the incredible time he had with us. He appeared to be destined to be a journeyman lower league player when he joined the Albion and he's been turned into the most valuable player we have ever sold, a full International and he's about to start plying his trade in the most exciting league in the world (TM).

Some will be unhappy with Poyet because there was huge amounts of acrimony around his departure. That it escaped you, I guess typifies the attitude of many Premier League fans who seem largely unaware of the 72 clubs knocking around in the Football League. (Until they get relegated back into it, of course).

But most Albion fans will wish Liam Bridcutt well, thinking he deserves a crack at the Premier League. Many Albion fans, despite the manner of his departure, will also wish Gus Poyet well. He's incredibly charismatic and is easy to love when he's at your club. Many Albion fans have moved on - they simply don't care about Poyet one way or another any more.

And, regardless of all of the above, I'm not sure there are many Albion fans who care about Sunderland one way or another - there's no form or history between the clubs. I view Sunderland as a proper football club with a rich history, very much rooted in the local community and with a large and passionate support.

Finally, of course, if you do well, it increases the chances of Palace coming back to where they belong. Good luck against Newcastle and for the rest of the season. Look after Liam - you have a gem there.

All of that.

That last bit will happen eventually at Sunderland. Ellis Short will face increasing pressure from Poyet about does he really want to invest in Sunderland to take them to the "next level", blah, blah. About the same time a vacancy might be on the cards at White Hart Lane or Stamford Bridge. Will also bring the management team back to homes in the home counties.

Agreed. Poyet is not at Sunderland for the long haul. He sees in himself that he is destined for a top four club. Time will tell.

The signing of Bridcutt was a calculated gamble initially. However, his development was aided by having Kishishev to learn from.

Bridcutt is a good player but more of a destroyer, his passing is not always the best and he does play very much like Makelele. He is fantastic in the tackle, rarely dives in and temperament is good. For a small chap his 'spring' is amazing and he wins lots of headers when he should not have a chance. There can be no doubt that he played a key part in our success and deserves a chance at a higher level. As soon as Poyet left it was inevitable he would come in for Bridcutt and I hope he does well.

Good signing and the £3.25m plus add-on's reported down here seems about right to me.

this is all correct, but i dont see anyone saying what his strongest attribute is. for me, his reading of the game and therefore being in the right place at the right time is top draw.
because of this he doesn't need to be super-fast.
he wins the ball and then gives it to team-mates (prefably flair players) whos job it is to go and create goals.
i love players who are good at this - they are so important to a team. examples - mekelele, barry, petit, batty.
good luck for the future bridders- i for one am gutted he has left us

Briducutt's a great player, if watching a someone who has absolutely no natural footballing ability or creative talent and poses zero goal threat floats your boat. However, it's interesting to watch how his collection of 'body art' develops over the season. He hasn't got 'Judus' on his forehead yet.

what a twit. he specialises in winning the ball and giving it to his team- mates. and he's bloody good at it.

We are all affected by these things in different ways. I go out of my way to avoid watching Poyet's Sunderland on the box, and that will be even more the case now that Bridcutt is playing for them, in the same way that I will only watch Palace highlights on MOTD if they've lost, and I especially want to avoid watching Murray running around in a Palace shirt whenever possible.

I feel exactly the same as you about palace and Murray strange!

Typical perfomrance by LB... did nothing outstanding but was the lynchpin in the side. What amazed me was the orders he was spouting out to the other players even in the first twenty minutes. Gus knew exctly what he was doing when he bought him. LB is the right player for the right tactic and think that the reasons why his perfomances dipped for us is that our tactic now doesnt suit him so well. LB is Gus's player and theyll go far together.

Bridcutt is simply not good enough against top Prem teams. He doesn't have the creativity required as a midfielder or the football judgement on how and when to make his challenges. Today was his chance with Rodwell and Cattermole out and he's blown it.

Bridcutt will get caught in possession, booked for fouling and get caught out for lack of speed.

Think that the yellow cards were pathetic and he was unlucky had he continually been fouling and pulled up I could understand a yellow for te 1st one but the 2nd was ridiculous but unfortunately for them you cannot appeal a yellow card.

How perceptive perseus - two yellow cards before the hour today!!!!!! Maybe we should loan him back to add the steel we are missing in midfield?

It was Poyet's fault, giving him too much ground to cover. Bound to get caught out against the likes of Liverpool. Holla gets an easy tie for the Albion, as it turns out he is incapable of running around like Bridcutt. But too be fair LB was operating in the Cattermole role, who has more legs.
