According to who? I didn't hear this and how do you know the identity? Wasn't it the police who brought the allegation/charge rather than her?

no. one of the key issues, and making this case notably different to the likes of Marlon King, Luke McCormick and host of others, is contrition. he hasnt shown any as he continues to protest his innocence. once he shows this the process of his rehabilitation and acceptance back into society can begin. until then, he doesnt think hes done anything wrong (and without an appeal) and remains an unrepentant rapist.

He has served his time.
Football does not require CRB checks ect

Maybe he is innocent. Miscarriages of justice happen. Therefore he is never going to show remorse.
His appeal will make or break his return as a footballer in this country.

This happened just up the road from me and the girl concerned went to school with my daughter. Best I duck out I think.

That doesn't make it true though? How big is the school and how well does your daughter know the girl? Is it friend of a friend of a friend? No offence but teenagers aren't the most reliable source of information. I remember some of the rumours that went round my school and there wasn't an ounce of truth, it only takes someone with a grudge and a malicious rumour can spread like wildfire.
You are right, but I have no reason to doubt what I was told and I will leave it at that.

Girls might lead a particular lifestyle that makes them more vulnerable to a crime, but doesn't mean they are any less deserving of justice (which you were not suggesting).
Why would a previous allegation have any bearing on the current case? She doesn't appear to have been labelled a serial litigator in court?

Sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in April 2012. I'd feel slightly more comfortable allowing him to resume his lucrative career after April 2017. Slightly.

Going forward should his agent be looking at a club on the continent while the legal process of a miscarriage of justice is continued? I would think that due to the bad publicity no team in the FL will take him on, although a lot would on his past football ability

I'm not expressing a view about the case. But I wonder exactly which jobs the good people of Britain, the 160,000 Sheffield Utd fans, Nick Clegg, Jessica Ennis, Paul Heaton etc., think Mr Evans should be allowed to do for the rest of his life?
