It would be physically impossible for the jnr stats to comprehend what might be a good cornering speed.
No matter how many times they raced they would only ever go straight on at the turn.

Can you imagine travelling all that way from Exeter, wearing a Yeovil Town shirt, to rock up at a place famous for it's old mental hospital to ride on a 'track' like that

Now that's dedication for you! Imagine if we were to find out it's actually Ryan Harley's guilty pleasure and was the clincher in the deal that brought him to us.

I've no intention of taking the 1066's mini's anywhere near, but I've always been curious about that track whenever I've driven past it as I've yet to see a single soul there.

Well, I think second hand smoke in that place is about 2 packs an evening! You can barely see the other side of the track and it's only about 150m round!

Maybe. It was 1998.

I read that about cav. Funny because OPQS were adamant he couldn't ride the track last year - I reckon he's convinced them it's the best way to get more speed vs kittel!

OPQS must have worked out Cav can either ride a 6 day event or sit at home eating pies

Assuming I can get out on Thursday, you're going to wonder how I didn't just explode on any of the climbettes I happen to be labouring up.

Hybrid shoes for SPDs ?

A little advice and/or recommendation please....I have just ordered a new boardman road comp under the C2W. It comes with SPD pedals. I have a Specialized Crosstrail Elite with ordinary pedals (using toe clips at the moment). I'm thinking of changing the Hybrid to SPDs. Are there any shoes that are suitable for both out there? Don't really want to buy two pairs if I can help it. The obvious option is just to retain the clips, but it need a little more grip and power through the pedal.

I have an older version of these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-r08...360537233&ci_src=18615224&ci_sku=5360537233uk for my road bike with double sided pedals so I can also ride in trainers when out with the kids. I can vouch for those. They're road shoes really, but can't see why they wouldn't be ok for the hybrid as well.

Otherwise you go down this route http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-m088-spd-mountain-bike-shoes/ and comprise with the road bike instead. Depends which bike you're going to prioritise I suppose.

To be honest I'm so pleased with my bike I'd recommend them for anything! It cost £800; anything similar from the shops would've been twice as much.

The obvious drawback to t'internet shopping your bike, is getting the fit right, esp if it's your first.

Anyone purchased from Vintage Velos? Site looks a bit broken, so no prices up. Some of their stuff is funking gorgeous. I ain't gonna gamble too much money when sizing might be off.

I'm pretty sure within our cycling lifetime we're going to look like retro luddites, with cantilever brakes, 10 speed cassettes, and manual shifting.

I think disc brakes will be ubiquitous very soon.

I can't remember which bike my mate was talking about, but it was a hydraulic disc braked roadie, from a main dealer, with a 5 month waiting list.
They just can't make them quick enough.

I'd hate to think how long the wait is for a Cannondale.

Are they 'regular' disc brakes or hydraulic ones?

Apparently the hydraulic brakes are superb and make a massive difference.
Regular disc brakes are no better or worse than normal brakes.

Hydraulic not that I've ridden it for a while since I've got into road biking. Just think there a little over the top for a road bike. Maybe I'm getting a little long in the tooth for change.
