Maybe you all that haven't had immigration effect your lives move to areas that immigration has.

Like the those embarrassing parts of spain full of bars, clubs and restaurants with union jacks everywhere? It's like a Mecca for chavs. Feel sorry for locals that have live near there.

Bit of a loaded poll. Where is the option for there isn't one?

I see your point but my question is aimed at those with issues. I should have been a bit clearer in my opening post I guess

Quite, now feel sorry for those in this country suffering the same as the Spanish in Spain

And not forgetting the benefits welfare bill that has rocketed by £20 billion even though it keeps getting cut but still rising, I wonder why.

For some sadly, the answer IS 'culture' (broadly) - they look different, dress different, act different -and it threatens people.

For others you need to expand 'they took our jobs' to a broader 'they are an additional stress on public resources / job market / housing stock / school places / nhs / benefits / etc'. There are some genuine concerns within that, imo.

Yep, actually there was not one of the options in the poll that i would tick, as the choices seem to be loaded to make the opinion racist.
No problem with immigrants, most are fine, but too many were allowed to come into the country and often just for the benefits ( before i get slaughtered, yes i know we have many of our own, which is why we do not need more) many have been a real asset as well.
It's the amount of immigration that irks most, and the reasons in this post.
Still Labour did not give a jot about the citizens that live here, that includes the immigrants that have moved here over the years, in fact they admitted they had made a grave mistake, still buffoons on here want to vote for them again eh lol.

Most of these bloody foreigners come here and work hard. The cheeky *******s. The NHS is full of these damn foreigners taking all our jobs. And there are even foreigners teaching British people along side bloody foreign students in our world-renowned British universities. If only they could be like the perfect people of the UK who live and work in the UK until the day we die. We need to fill in the channel tunnel with cement and build a 1000 foot wall around the UK.

Instead of being silly, ask yourself why we need foreign doctors and nurses in the first place.

The first reason is because we haven't trained our own people, which can you not agree is an absolute disgrace.
May be if they made university courses affordable in this country we wouldn't need to recruit from overseas or through agencies at hugely inflated fees to the government and we wouldn't get problems like lack of communication between some doctors and nurses and patients due to the language barrier.

The second reason is obvious, we have more people than ever using the NHS which can be put down to increased numbers because of immigration, so we need more people to run it.

But none of the options are serious - they're just soundbites from anti-UKIP people who have somehow got it into their heads that controlled immigration means no immigration, which it quite clearly doesn't.

I disagree. I was reading an article on the potential renegotiation of the Lisbon Treaty, a Cameron speech and whether the potential changes would be to specifically protect general movement, jobs, benefit tourism or all three. Hence my question.

Quite agree - those areas of Spain are nothing for us to be proud of. Roughly the equivalent of some parts of our towns and cities where you won't hear a word of English spoken and many of the women are clad in black from head to toe with just a slit for the eyes.

Yep. Far be it to actually read what UKIP stated on immigration, which clearly stated controlled immigration.

Because eduction overall is valued far more in less-developed countries than it is here?

So don't you agree the emphasis in this country should be to promote working in the NHS and at least make study affordable.

Question to the mods. Can you add a "I don't have an issue" category please?

Watch " crime watch" this week and have a look at the "wanted" wall of faces.

As the descendant of immigrants to Coatbridge in the 1850s, I'm privileged to have available to me a modern text that explains exactly what ill effects six generations of my family have contributed to life in Britain.

It all seems to come down to papists in Rome and a dislike of U2 and Bono. On behalf of all Irish people throughout the world, all I can do is apologise.

I often wonder where they would have been
If we hadn't have taken them in
Fed them and washed them
Thousands in Glasgow alone
From Ireland they came
Brought us nothing but trouble and shame
Well the famine is over
Why don't they go home?

Now Athenry Mike was a thief
And Large John he was fully briefed
And that wee traitor from Castlemilk
Turned his back on his own
They've all their Papists in Rome
They have U2 and Bono
Well the famine is over
Why don't they go home?

Now they raped and fondled their kids
That's what those perverts from the darkside did
And they swept it under the carpet
And Large John he hid
Their evils seeds have been sown
Cause they're not of our own
Well the famine is over
Why don't you go home?

Now Timmy don't take it from me
Cause if you know your history
You've persecuted thousands of people
In Ireland alone
You turned on the lights
Fueled U-boats by night
That's how you repay us
It's time to go home

The majority of immigrants to this country through the last 100 years have settled in well, have respected the British or rather the western European Christian based culture and have assimilated into the UK whilst maintaining their own traditions. I think for example of the west Indians, the Irish, the Caribbean Blacks, the Jewish people from various eastern European countries etc.

in todays society most immigration is still without problems, however there is a small number of immigrants who come from countries that are massively different from ours culturally , eg Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Yeman, Afghanistan, etc who maybe used to some types of behaviour that in this country and in Europe we find unacceptable. Eg treatment of woman, treatment and attitude towards gay people, attitude towards people that don't share the same religion as them. Understanding of democracy and human rights etc.

I am not saying everyone from these countried and others all hold the same views but a significant number historically have done according to various polls that have been done and this can become a problem if these people then move to live in the UK.

This is a reasonably sensible answer. The main problem seems to be integration, for example there is a huge Chinese population in this country but nobody even really notices. This is a good model for any immigrants to any country.

Its only relatively recently that study has been made unaffordable. And far less-developed countries have somehow found the wherewithal to train doctors and nurses. In this country the politicians know the cost of everything and the value of nothing, same as it ever was.
