So would I but that's not what I was suggesting.

We might have a lot of possession and play nice football but if we're not more direct then we will have many more frustrating games like Saturday to look forward to. I know it's early days but my concern from Saturday is that we are easy to shut out at home which has been the pattern for some time now.

huh?

It's not about being more direct, it's about being more ACCURATE.

Come on, we absolutely dominated them but only had a handful of good chances to score.

Well we scored two, plus;

Colunga volleyed over from six yards.
CMS shot on the turn just past the post.
Tex and Colunga 2 on 1 immediately after the first Dunk goal.
Tex straight at keeper from close range on 5 minutes.

There's six. How many in a handful?

Murray has confirmed on Twitter that it's loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Parish on 5 live explained it as Murray needed game time following his cruciate injury..which explains a loan. he's had few appearances since his comeback. Doyle is on loan until Jan as cover. Said if Murray was match fit he (probably) wouldn't have loaned him.

We had TWENTY attempts at goal. We clearly weren't that easy to shut out!

You seem to be on a different wavelength to the rest of us. Certainly don't remember 20 shots on goal. Furthermore did their keeper have to make any meaningful saves? We played some good Footie but not enough bodies in the oppositions penalty box, except on set pieces!
Playing like this at home will lose us lots of points. Think we may score more goals away this campaign, attacking on the break. That side on Saturday was crying out for a decent centre forward. Drop CMS put up a holding number 9, we would have won. Oh well.

That's twice we have made a really bad bad decision regarding Glen Murray.

WE should have taken him on loan and if he proved his fitness, signed him. He would have been the final piece of the jigsaw for us I believe. A target man who can hold up the ball and score goals. That is still what we are missing.

Of course, maybe Sami and the team have a loan player in mind from a top club to fill that role and are waiting for the loan window to open on the 10th?

Some great soppy bollocks reading on the BBS for those of us who like that sort of perversion in our lives. I especially like some of the comments on the 'Goodbye Glenn' thread.

Clearly we lacked an intelligent hold-up player on Saturday to bring the best out of Tex and Colunga's lively runs. Having forked out for COG and Baldock, that probably meant we were not in the queue for Glen. Dammit Burke did his business too soon :p

Or we couldn't afford his wages, or Sami doesn't fancy him, or he's too much of a risk given his lengthy lay off, or he doesn't fit in to SH's style of play, or we couldn't guarantee him game time...

nB: not sure if Reading will play him much either. Looks like 3rd or 4th choice to me.

I couldn't really see how he would pass a medical with a crocked knee , Reading might have to take a punt on him in January but if I was Judas I would quite happily pick up my £20k a week from Palarse even if it meant playing in the reserves for the remainder of the contract.
