When I was at Patcham Fawcett we never had names that I can remember but letters and numbers, A1 A2 B1 B2 B3 C1 C2 A being for the biff ins and C for the not brainy ones, I was in the middle. 1983-87

If I remember rightly the A,B,C etc we're the form year grades, ie A's the clever un's B's C's etc lower down, but then there were the House groups such as Firle for sports activities etc that crossed the year divides
