Thank you for calling me a liar. You have perceived it to be that way. I said there was a choice, which is different.

Please do not insult the intelligence of most of the posters on this thread. The main thrust of your argument was that drug addicts only have themselves to blame. Don't try and dress it up differently.

It wasn't but I'm not going to argue with you as it is pointless.

I can't believe the 'all drugs are bad, all drugs are the same, all people who take drugs are bad' brigade still exist in 2014. Especially when plenty of them happily take drugs at football on a Saturday or at home with a nice meal (alcohol).

I'm not inclined to scrap the thread. We live in a country that celebrates alcohol, is suspicious of those who don't indulge in it, tolerates tobacco, yet demonises other substances that are equally unhealthy when taken to excess.

How predictable. So why is porn banned?

Because watching porn is different to talking about drugs.

I can't believe what strong opinions you have about a subject you clearly know absolutely nothing about.

i bet in real life you don't have the balls to enter a conversation that other strangers are enjoying and then proceed to act like a sanctimonious prat, condeming them for enjoying that topic simply because you don't. and on top of that then making condescending comments to many of them about things they've just said, like they're inferior to you.

and on that basis, you're a bit of a little man aren't you.

Like our politicians who are determined to keep this futile "war on drugs" going and in the process criminalising thousands of innocent people, costing the taxpayer millions, allowing violent criminals to become kingpins and preventing addicts getting the help they need.

Indeed. I can't see how it's ever going to change though. Humans have got smashed pretty much since time began on whatever they could get their hands on. And as much as that will always be the case, there will always be people who deny it.

On the 6 o'clock news there will be talks of drugs, drug use and, most notably, the tragic consequences of drug taking.

On the 6 o'clock news there will not be graphic description or video of sexual activity.

1: Because people view NSC at work and it could get them into trouble with breach of contract issues if they were seen viewing porn via NSC.

2: Because it was cause problems with our Google related advertising overlords.

Any other questions?

But there wont be coverage of idiots saying how enjoyable illegal drugs are.

So advertising the joys of taking illegal drugs is just fine.

Im not sure anyone who read the original post would call it joyous, its clearly a negative story.

People have good times on drugs, people have bad times on drugs. Why should people not be allowed to talk about both sides openly?

Why have people 'hijacked' this thread, if all they are going to do is moan about the dangers of drugs and the such like when this thread is nothing to do with them ??? Surely people aren't that sad that they spend their life on NSC and feel they have to post on every thread, even if they have nothing to contribute :nono:

For me, was around 1991/2, stupidly took an acid tab (called Key to Heaven) that had been kicking around my room for nearly a year, gathering dust, Plus took it on my own, which as most people not really advisable to do acid on your own, best to do it when other people are on it...........that little tab ****ed me up in a bad, bad way. :nono: So close to phoning for an ambulance, felt ****ing awful. Never took it again (but until that point had some unbelievable nights on it) Numerous bad states on pills (e's) early nineties after a night dancing away at Mantra and Passion raves on East Street and then later at the amazing Zap club.

Twenty years ago though.......happy days indeed
