I can't see how! It is not the delivery of the corners it is the forwards (or advancing defenders) on the receiving end. Dunk should have had a hatrick against Cheltenham instead of the corner routine which he scored from.

Eh...for me it starts at the delivery which has been poor ..can't comment on the Cheltenham game wasn't there...but i can on the basis of watching all the home games last season...i felt as though we might as well of given them a goal kick ...delivery is only one thing though ...as has been said by another poster someone needs to get on the end of them

What???.....Where did I say anything about fitting into any system??? I hope the guy is amazing, but it will probably be at least a month, till he is fit and I was mearly pointing out, he is most likely a cheap alternative to Clayton. Let's hope he is better than Clayton, but let's not hold our breath eh, with Burke's track record.
Why are peeps worried about his fitness? Did you not see the pics of his GF!
You can guarantee he has plenty of stamina if nothing else :)

They did switch about between 433 and 442 diamond , though iirc stuck more with the diamond second half of last season during good run

This is what I would play, 100% sure. I would not call it the diamond, more of a triangle. Should be moving triangles all over the midfield anyway.

Diamond does really imply a narrow 4-4-2 without wingers (Sven employed that at Leicester ??? with success against the Albion but it was not overall popular.). I just prefer a flexible 4-3-3 with one winger.

It seems to me that he is the back up plan to Clayton. I've never seen Clayton play but what I gathered about him from that massive thread and what the Huddersfield fans were saying on their own board is that he can play an advanced midfield role or sit deeper and dictate the play. Which seems to be the role(s) that this guy plays.

The wage bill is being massively slashed. In return we are replacing proven established players with cheap risky options from abroad and cast offs from relegated teams. FFP is our main aim but it shouldn't put the club at risk. The Calibre of players we were originally were looking at were exciting ie Clayton,Mason,Ward etc, it promised to be an exciting summer for us. It hasn't happened at all. Infact the complete opposite. Only one signing to date(Stockdale) has got my endorphins racing. The type of player who would tell an uninterested missus about just to tell someone because you are buzzing.
No doubt Barber will big this up in the coming days by saying this is our 6th signing already. One only has to look at the ins and outs to draw there own conclusion i'm afraid.

I think some might be puzzled considering all the cash we've taken in over the last 8 months

No I don't for a second think we will spend anywhere near that. But we should be, with what's gone out and what the club charge. And they would still have £10m and spare left over.
But 'the shops' are still open and the club still has time to spend it's 'bonus' money.

A good argument can be made for why Holla has taken so long to arrive.
But arguments about spending can't be made until 01.09.

Your right the shops are still open. But only the crap that no one else wants is left on the rail, at the end of the sales.

Liverpool played it with high fullbacks, wide centre halves with Gerrard at the base of the diamond slotting in between them when working the ball from the back. Sturridge and Suarez working the channels to stretch the back for with Coutinhonat the point , Stirling and Henderson supporting, but with movement flexibility of course.

I liked it, most teams struggled to cope with it

A bit of both, I expect. I think the Albion ought to study the Hull City method of taking corners and practice scoring and defending against all of their routines.

Had he not played for us already would you still be saying that if the Albion signed Tommy K this week?

I reckon NSC would be well chuffed if they bought such a quality signing in.
He certainly wouldn't be deemed crap and sale rail quality.

We got Kuszczak on a free two years ago. Was he a penny pinching cheap option?

Use your loaf. He came from Man Utd and played a number of games. He came with pedigree.

A Man Utd reject that nobody wants to sign this summer. He's training with Oldham until he gets a club. Oh, but that's alright as he's got a pedigree.

It seems to me that some fans have got into a moaning aspect this summer due to perceived negligence by the club, and can't get out of it.

At the time he was a fantastic signing and it proved to be. You can't predict how it will pan out in the future can you? That's a bit daft. I still think he is a quality keeper that got to big for his boots.

Excatly. £2m on a midfielder and £2m on a striker with another £1m for a left back, is this too much? I don't think so, shall we add up all the wages they have saved with nearly ALL top earners leaving?

I tend to follow the Liverpool system and tend to think what Brighton players are (or could be) the Liverpool equivalents. Stephens the equivalent of Henderson? I had Buckley to play the Sturridge role (so I am very annoyed he was sold) and Lualua to play the Suarez role. Don't need an Ulloa for the Liverpool system.

I still like four at the back although the World Cup showed if the two full backs step up in unison they can catch the opposition offside.

Brighton against QPR showed we can even play balls to avoid Barton at the base of the diamond. Need a wide man though.
