Reading The Nowhere Men, which features our own Head of Youth Recruitment (presume he is still in that job), Mark Anderson, who used to be involved at Liverpool, and young Teixara gets a mention. Imagine not only Hyypia but Anderson had a say in this one.

Hmm. Maybe he was sent back. Not entirely clear. Seems it wasn't about quality though. From the daily mail and skysports sites:

Teixeira was a regular in the Under-21 side after that and that has continued this season either side of his loan spell at Brentford.
Bologna were interested in taking Teixeira on a short-term deal but he went to Griffin Park instead in September.
The loan wasn't a great success, however, but through no fault of the player's. He made two substitute appearances, against Tranmere Rovers and Leyton Orient, but a downturn in Brentford's form meant he returned to Anfield on October 7.
Brentford's manager at the time, Uwe Rosler, said:
'Joao came to us at an unfortunate time. We do not have the same flow to our game as we did in pre-season or at the start of the season.
'Our game is out of rhythm, put it that way, but it will come again. It is difficult for a player like Joao to show us his true potential in that situation.'
"I didn't want him to get frustrated. It is not about Joao's qualities, it is the situation.
"The player has gone back and we will concentrate on what we have. We have enough midfield players, we won't replace him."

Think he will be more a replacement for Kemy than JFC, but mostly excited about having a player who can take set-pieces...ours have been woeful for years!

Can't stand all the negativity.

I'm happy to read all the tweets from Liverpool fans who have actually seen him play and almost without exception say he's a great player with loads of ability and is a fantastic aquisition for us. Their manager thinks enough of him to give him a first team appearance whilst chasing the premiership title.

I'd rather listen to them than people on here who don't think he can make it into the squad at Brentford.

Seems people here would rather look for any negatives to blame the board/club/chairman/whoever.

I'm guessing most of the negativity isn't coming from season ticket holders whilst we played at Gillingham...

I'm quite pleased with following message I got from Pool friend...

"Holy mother of ****, you got Teixeira! He's outstanding. Enjoy!

Thought he might make the team this year actually, but a season in the Champ will do him good. I'm tempted to get a season ticket just to watch him"

Could be just what CMS needs.

That wasn't a bad post until the last line.

If Liverpool fans say he's their top U21 player that's good enough for me. He's in a position of need and heard good things from friends. Don't think I've seen him play though when been up that way.

Silly old bat
He took one or two amazing ones, but also took a lot of SHOCKERS! Equally Harley scored that wonder free kick but didn't do much else set-piece wise!

My memory must be playing tricks as he didn't miss one penalty, his free kicks scored several goals and his corners did reach our man.

I reckon about 90% of the Liverpool fans that are claiming how good he is have never seen him play, they just like to sound ITK. I'm excited none the less.

P.s what was the need for the Gillingham jibe?

I asked a couple of Liverpool fans here at work about him. Both say that he will definitely bring extra quality to the squad.

First team experience or not, I would rather have this Portugese u21 international than Lingard. I think we may be in for a nice surprise with this one.
