I've come back home.
Think you should **** off to the UKIP thread chump. When I say British managers it's because they get teams promoted from the Championship you mouthy mug.

Calm down we've all had a babycham. Perhaps i hit a nerve, not sure. I'll refer you back to my last point just in case the rage took over before you read it.

You only replied as there's no thumb downs / ups as you have given me the most thumbs down on here. I want a British manager as they have a good track record of getting teams promoted.
Have I? That's good. No, I just genuinely wondered what difference it makes.

There are plenty of British managers that fail miserably

Championship 2013-4

Last year all three promoted teams had British managers.

Last year all three relegated teams had British managers.

Take your pick.

This is bought up from time to time, and it's a completely false comparison, because there are far FAR more British managers in the Championship than foreigners. Most managers that get promotion from the Championship are British because the majority of managers at this level are British. You could look at the German second division and make precisely the same/opposite case (German managers get promotion from that division more than foreign managers, so therefore must be better) and it'd be equally wrong headed. Or the Spanish, or Italian, or in fact any non-top flight you care to mention.

I count 2 teams that started this season in the Championship with a foreign manager (us and Watford), although I stand to be corrected. Average finishing position 9.5th. The other 22 teams had an average finishing position of 12.77th. Therefore if anything this season foreign managers were MORE successful. And that's without taking account of Middlesborough's rise under Karanka or Wigan's under Rosler.

Finnish managers have a very bad record in getting promoted to the Finnish premier league. There's 10 clubs in the second division, and every season 9 managers fail to get their teams promoted while just 1 succeeds. Really shitty managers in Finland. With British managers I'm sure they could get all 10 teams promoted to the first tier in just one season.

Anyone know how many EPL managers of teams in the Champion's League next season are British?

I'm not going to pretend I've been trawling through the stats to check but isn't the proportion of British managers over the course of the Championship (so since the name change) vastly higher when compared to that of overseas appointments?

If the British managers weren't winning the vast amount of promotions it'd be a damning indictment on the coaching skills of the UK really.

The amount of people on here that STILL cannot upload photos is staggering.

Yeah, sorry about that, it's just been a while and I'd forgot with all the excitement of seeing Michael Owen at the Amex.
