Yay hopefully Stijn Steels will pick up some breakaway points.

There's a man who knows he's riding for Team Stat.
Nothing can go wrong now.

Felt really lousy going to bed last night, so knew a ride was not on this morning. Lovely it was too. Typical.

Anyway, on Eurospurt tomorrow afternoon at 1.30 Live Cycling: Kuurne-Brussels.
That's a shame, esp on a bonus day like today.

Still they'll be plenty more.

I'd love Stan to go well, I just don't think the weather will sort out the men from the boys, which brings EBH into the equation.

Same bet, instead of Stan I've gone for Schar - 125/1 and his team captain, the fella who I think will win Greg VA @18's.
From the cyclingnews live feed it would seem, other than being completely wrong, that's pretty much what happened :lolol:

Obviously I'm gutted for my £1 win on Greg VA, but I'm genuinely pretty pleased for Stan.
Anyone who I call The El Abd of cycling is a rider I admire.

Had Greg got beaten by anyone else (maybe other than Stybar) then I'd be pretty pee'ed off, right now.

Jempy is definitely on the 'A' list, welcome aboard Jempy

6 Jempy Drucker (Lux) Wanty - Groupe Gobert

(The team is getting pretty big, I'm going to have to start writing all their names down)

Just finished my first ever Triathlon around the Yas F1 track in Abu Dhabi. Sprint distance 750m/20km/5km. Nailed the bike in 34:50 but suffered in transitions.

Also I'm volunteering at the upcoming Abu Dhabi International Triathlon and have been given a title 'Assistant Team Leader - Bike Course'. Essentially it's setting up the signage for the big day.

The guy I'll be working for is also 'Stage Manager - TdF Stage 1 Leeds to Harrogate' according to his e-mail sig. Should I be impressed? Looking forward to it.

Gonna aim for the Sussex Tri in June...anyone else?

Well done - impressive! Not being able to swim quickly or run for any distance, triathlons are not for me.

Just about to go to Ditchling for The Puncheur. I could not be less in the mood for this. It's cold, grey and miserable and has just started to rain.

:(

The SS2 stream I got this morning had tennis on for some strange reason, but luckily I found and watched pretty much the whole of Omloop here :)

[yt]bgiIibW3JJI[/yt]

Great win for Stan :rave: , especially the way he took GVA, who you'd have backed from there. I can't begrudge Eddy nicking a 3rd spot from me as well in Vanmarcke really, that would just be greedy.

Looking forward to live coverage of KBK today. I've gone with:

Coquard 14/1, Kristoff 12/1 & Roelandts 33/1 - all 50p e/w.

Got a feeling Roelandts worked too hard yesterday to come in here, but if the Gorilla doesn't deliver for the team then you never know. I'm wondering if Demare might be spent for today too as he was quite animated in Omloop. For that reason, given his form and my over confidence, I went back and got a bit carried away with another £2 on Conquard, this time on the nose!

Kristoff had a very easy day yesterday though, so could prove best value.

You took your time!!!

I've watched a brief highlight, you know its a tough race when the winner can't celebrate crossing the line.

I was thinking the same re DeMare, hopefully he held a little back.
Apparently Andre is a little under the weather.
Kistoff has to be a very serious contender, what odds are he, anything over 10's is a steal.
Now I've studied Mecgec, I still have no idea why I put £1 on him, but I think he'll be at the pointy end, so 33/1 ain't too stupid.

As someone got all chesty on the 'myths' thread,

NSC cycling geeks is the only thread on this board with winning tips.

Oh sorry this is NSC myths not NSC FACTS, that'll need another thread.

NB - Today's effort supplied the 40/1 winner and 18/1 runner up.
Still you lot scratch around with your 5/4 place.

I guess we need to streamline our betting chat:-

We're selling Demare, no value in Griepel.

Kristoff is our best agreed shout at 12's.
Coquard will keep your form alive.

Roelandts and Megec worthy outsiders, although not necessarily recommended by the other.

Nice effort. How were the other splits? You might be quicker overall to take the edge off the bike to give yourself more on the run. Swimming is stupid anyway, and just a necessary evil because duathlons only happen in the winter. (Alternatively I could do some actual training....)

I was waiting to watch the race this morning, otherwise I would have been straight out with the :rave: yesterday. £26 return for Stan puts me ahead for the season so far. I'd have been laughing all the way to the bank if I'd used my £20 free bet on it, although I'm not sure I would have been able to.

So, account up on where I started this season even if I lose all the £5 riding on KBK today. I have until April something to use up £20 free bet but not sure where to put it, especially as it has to be lumped on one bet and not all bets will take it. Get your thinking cap on and maybe I'll go with a majority verdict if others have ideas too.

It was funny watching Stan cross the line for his win. So shagged he couldn't even celebrate

Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne coverage now underway: http://cricfree.tv/euro-sports.php

Poor Phinney off to hospital after a crash already. Not much luck for BMC, what with Thor going down heavily yesterday.

Yup, great stuff. I'd struggle to a 20m front crawl.

Weather is fine a few miles north. I reckon you'll be fine once you get a few miles in.

It was bloody freezing all the way. And windy. And it finished at the top of Ditchling Beacon.

I won though. Sort of.

Blimey! OPQS & Belkin absolutely smashing this race! Such a strong group gaining time rapidly and splitting the race apart.

All sprinter bets could well be out of the window already, still with 60km to go.

Pro cycling at its most frustrating.

What's the point of FDJ, Giant, Lotto to a lesser extent BMC even entering the race.

All could have won this, but didn't want to work for it.
