Every other club? May be we should find a list of all transfers for the Championship. It would be interesting. I think we have done quite well to other clubs. I might be wrong. Where can we get hold of a list.
You might be wrong yes,.....

Disagree. We've had a level playing field for a fair few seasons now. We've got 25,000 ST pigs (myself included) who eat pies and drinks pints like they're going out of fashion. Our media facilities are such that we get WAY more than our fair share of televised matches. This level of interest in The Chamionship cannot be sustained IMHO, it can only tail off. JCLs are going to be expecting the Premier League PDQ else they'll be burning their Albion lanyards and going back to Twickers.

If that IS it for this window then it means that we have kept Buckley which I think is great news. He's not having his most productive season for different reasons but we know what he can do if fit.
I'd have Buckers over Conway all day.
Baird will fill the 4th central defender spot and still a few hours to field all the agents phone calls offering us untold treasures.

OK we might not go up this season but it's not the end of the world really is it......?
.....and, hey you know you are still have a club in a few years time, if of course you are not at Twickers.

Richards is a DM, isn't he? I've only seen him play there.

Maybe. Even worse then. We need a CB IMHO.

Of course we might not go up but that's not the real issue. People will expect some effort and ambition during this window. People will have every right to question that if that is it regarding investment in the team..

Hopefully 2 good signings have been made. We've still got Buckley, hopefully returning soon. Chicksen & Solly march breaking through into first team and looking good. Still think Dunk can be a good player for us. Macca coming back and maybe even Hoskins. Ince has been a revelation and I like Andrews in the midfield. Jury's still out on Kemmy for me. Clearly got talent but poor mobility. We've got a good squad or we wouldn't be in the top 10. I prefer our approach to signings than QPR, Forest, Palace etc. Who knows who else we might pick up in the loan window? My glass is half full. Up The Albion!:albion2:

I don't know of any other club in the Champ who has made the money we have and spent so little of it back out.

In other news, has anyone seen this video of Hernanes at Lazio, pretty emotional, massive respect to the lad, gotta wonder why Inter would push so hard to take him away. True player, I just wish we had players like that, however few and far between they are.

I never ever want to see my club go through the shit they did. They where dark days, and my dream was always that we got a stadium. We got the stadium, we are getting a training ground, we are playing in The Championship and most importantly it looks like we are running this club properly. Why can't some people just be happy?

To be fair, you are right about the 'Conway in to cover Orlandi' bit. However, we should be looking to strengthen, not go backwards. Additionally, you need 4, not 3, CB's you can call on due to likely suspensions / injuries. The club appear to be sending out a message that we are only going to make a half-hearted attempt at the play-offs. I find that VERY disappointing.

I agree. Would have thought we need another CB but i guess we could rely on a loan if and when we needed one. As for other positions I was hoping for another winger but again you could argue this would be unnecessary with Buckers, Kaz and now the emerging March. For me the injury of Crofts is the most significant loss and I guess Stephens is the replacement for him. Assuming we play 433 the choices are now:-
Goalkeepers:-We have 3
Full backs:- 4
CBack:- 3 (one short as you say)
Midfielders:- 5 (JFC,Kemy,Ince,Andrews,Stephens….possibly one short?)
Wingers:- 5 (Kaz,Buck,March,Lopez,Orlandi…..and I know I am describing the last two as wingers..)
Forwards:- 3 (Ulloa,Obika,Rodriguez)
Pretty good squad

Don't really give that much of a shit really on a personal basis. The Withdean Five Thousand will still be there and with the added bonus of shorter train queues. Its the other 20,000 the club should be worrying about

If we get Baird will you be happy?

Not really, but better than no CB. Would prefer a young CB with more pace. One for the future who can provide cover now. Money would need to be spent.

Effort and ambition?
We have sold El Abd (bench), Barnes (marmite) and Bridcutt (square peg).......for a healthy sum.
Replaced Barnes twice and Bridcutt and will v prob replace El Abd.
We have kept Buckley and got Monakana as an extra option.
We have March, CMS and Hoskins all ready to explode into life.
We have a loan window imminent and money to spend in it.
We havent shipped in a big big name. Who did you want?

I agree with some that the lack of investment on the playing field is worrying.

All this talk of premier league ready is nonsense. You can have the best infrastructure in the world but it's the players that cross the line every week who will ultimately get us to the promised land.

If Spanish Rodney and Dale Stephens turn out to be the only new signings this month than that is so disappointing and sends out completely the wrong message. We have the highest attendances out side the premier league and yet we are still a selling club. How the club have sold Bridcutt on the final day of the window is beyond me. Granted we have a ready made replacement in Ince but this has been dragging on all month. We should have got rid two weeks ago giving us time to reinvest and strengthen in other areas.

As a club we seem so fixated on FFP and whilst that is commendable to a degree, it's also extremely frustrating when other clubs seem to abuse the system.

Finding it very hard to get excited at the minute if truth be told

Window not closed yet, whatever Naylor has been told is total horseshit. I still believe we will sign one more.

They are worrying about the other 20,000 - making sure there is still a sustainable club for them to support in a few years.
