What game were you lot watching Hammond did exactly what he was put into the side to do. He broke up the play and was available for the simple ball whenever needed the big let down in midfield to day was Lopez and Orlandi who both never seemed to get to grips with the game.

You think he was told to ball watch and not bother with trying to get the round thing off the blokes in black?

Simple ball  I'd wager Charlie had to tie his laces for him today

No point in trying to point out his plus points today as obviously, like many on here, your head is in the sand and you only see what you want to.

To all those who were constantly moaning at Dean Hammond those afternoon, please go and obtain a copy of the DVD and just which his 90 minute preformance.

It will change you opinion

Noted - on a couple of occasions he did appear slow, though in the 10 years we have known him has he ever had pace?

You posted this at 18:55, are you honestly telling me you made it home and had a chance to watch the DVD (which isn't out yet)?? What makes you the all seeing oracle??
Who are you to force YOUR opinions on people?? For what it's worth I thought he had a shocker... Can't personally see what Gus sees in him.

Shocker? As did Lopez and Orlandi in my opinion

No head in sand at all, just had enough of so called decent players not doing the basics ie passing to players in the same colour kit, tackling players with in a different kit and not standing motionless staring at the round thing.

I will give you the breaking up play part though BG, except he was meant to break up the oppositions game not ours

It always amazes me how differently spectators see a game. Gus played him for the 90 mins so he cant have been too bad. I thought he had a good game.

We only had 2 subs after 10 minutes. Orlandi and Spanish Dave were marginally worse so Hammond got the full 90

I didn't think Hammond was that bad, we all know he hasn't got any pace but you can't fault his work rate, both Bridcutt and Hammond worked bloody hard today to cover the Spaniards who weren't at the races (well maybe they were at Aintree but they weren't at The Amex).

At times Hammond was our most advanced player he does try to be box to box he has the stamina but just not got the pace.

It wasn't a shocker for Hammond just not his best.

I and others though it was one of his better games and for an ""overrun midfielder" he got high up the pitch a lot.

That's how I saw it, too. Most of our attacking moves in the first half seemed to revolve around him being in or around the box. He looked to be more involved than usual, to me.
