the Austrian keeper should have been sent off in the first half and made a sensational save from Smith in the second.
ChapmansThe Saviour said:Agree with the first bit but Smith should have scored that chance, he didn't want to use his left foot though.

Owen is England's most prolific striker
Smith and Defoe have both started the season superbly
Vassell has an excellent scoring record for his country
So they should have been the four strikers chosen. The idea that we need a centre forward who is a big lumbering oik shows how outdated football thinking is in this country. Arsenal have Henry, Berglamp and Reyas, and none of them fall into that category, but they are by far the most potent striking force around in the Premiership.
I know the result is everything and the performance is instantly forgotten, but I thought England bossed that game easily for 70 minutes, the Austrian keeper should have been sent off in the first half and made a sensational save from Smith in the second.
We should have won easily, but the lack of two decent players (keeper and left midfield) means that England are the equivalent of Newcastle or Liverpool ---- living on past glories and under the illusion that they have a right to win everything.
ChapmansThe Saviour said:Hmmm... Owen, Smith, Defoe and Vassell in the squad as the strikers just doesn't seem right. We need some more presence up front.
