Depends what you mean by 'its' (and I'm not talking about the missing apostrophe). The hospital gave out confidential information. That is the fault of people within the hospital, not of the prank call. I clearly wasn't suggesting they were at fault for the aftermath.

Without the call, the hospital would never have given out the confidential information.

What the hell has that got to do with it? The hospital shouldn't be giving out confidential information, which is why they said they'd look at their policies. That's like drink driving and saying no one would have died if everyone else had stayed at home.

Have you never played a prank?

Most of us have.

But few of us would have BROADCAST a prank connected to the biggest news story in the world at the time.

It's not QUITE the same as calling someone with a funny name in the phone book for private amusement.

its very simple though, if there were no prank call, there would have been no information given out, or no embaressment or no improper application of hospital phone procedure, no hounding by the press etc. that might reasonably be expected to follow. we may differ on the "minimum", but we've put more thought into it than the DJ's. they didnt stop to think "someone might get in a spot of bother over this".

who the f*** goes to the hospital with morning sickness anyway, none of this would have happened if the duchess manned up a little bit.

I was simply pointing out that the nurse may not even have done anything wrong, as it may have been the hospital procedures that were at fault for releasing info.

Was there hounding from the press? This story was about to be old news, the royal family joked about it, they weren't noticeably upset.

There are so many wise people here all of a sudden - please post links to your comments before this terrible tragedy, that show where you pointed out how terrible the DJs were (just saying the DJs are dicks doesn't count). Frutos said a nurse might lose her job (the other one, not the one that's died), but he was laughing about it.

A day ago, it would not have carried much currency to criticise the DJs on a hypothetical consequence that the hoax could lead to possible suicide. While not unheard of, with some justification, I think most people would have been dismissed even discussing that outcome, without any actual evidence that it was going to happen, as over-dramatic.

Out of interest, were the paparazzi outside the house of the nurse who died for the last few days? Of course the press would never take any responsibility for this tragedy would they?

i was pointing out the obvious potential outcomes. the sort of things you'd expect, when thinking "hey, this is funny a prank" and you'd hope would make you say "maybe not so funny". clearly some think you can do what you like, screw the consequences as its good for a laugh, if bad stuff happens, well, didnt mean it, just a laugh innit.

None of your buisness
The Royals have obviously ordered for her killing. Too extreme to think a women married with 2 children would kill herself over a prank (pre-recorded call). It's not like she hurt anyone. The prank didn't have a nasty agenda. The only thing which f***ed up was the Royal inside information getting released to the public. Clearly they didn't want us knowing about this and now the nurse who gave out the info has randomly killed herself!?
Don't be shocked when you all find out what the Royal family really are. Attack me for suggesting the Royals may be the culprits for the nurses death, but why are the Djs and Nurse the only ones involved in this case? Like I said, it only f***ed things up for the Royals, maybe it was their reaction to the prank which caused the 'suicide'?

Haha this is borderline insane, it was OBVIOUSLY the illuminati. They were busy launching the new gold spike commercial moon programme (all of the rich elites are moving to the moon) and they let this one slip and got rid of the nurse.

DUH.

But seriously surely murdering a nurse for revealing some fairly unimportant information is an even bigger over reaction than the nurse killing herself? Who knows what was going on with the nurse, maybe she was having a lot of problems and this public humiliation was the straw that broke the camel's back.
