If this is true, the club has to have a word. Could become a very nasty atmosphere in the North if the stewards are going to throw their weight around unnecessarily. I know some people get annoyed with others standing but that's a really bad way to deal with it in that particular stand.

That stump of a steward with no neck really comes across as a complete f***ing arse-hole.

The first half ejection, i also sit not too far away and he was asked to 'have a chat downstairs', wasn't seen again. 85 mins from time the stewards go in as Bozza's picture suggest, only to remove 2 fellas with walking sticks?? At this point i asked the 'main' steward why this was happening and it was to do with non compliance of the seating regulations set out by the FA. When asked about the first half incident as he was the steward who removed the gentleman he replied that he had 'used foul and abusive language likely to incite a disturbance', which i can confirm was the 'stand up if you hate palace' chant.
The steward issue, certainly from my perspective seems to be worsening, i also thought they were there to make sure we are safe and enjoy the day, tonight i saw them peeping over the barriers to the lower north stand corner on the radio, almost as if picking out people. Sounds mad but that's my impression. I had a discussion with the said 'main' steward and several Police after as a group and eventually a Police officer with a camcorder told me i've had my warning? Warning for what? Things appear to be getting out of control in my opinion, if people don't see what i and many others see, well................................

that. wouldnt be the first time sais song was used to annoy stewards enforcing the no standing law, home or away. i can easily see a persistant offender getting ejectd.

How come the away fans are allowed to stand for the whole game, without any ejections? Surely that is against the safety regulations at a football ground? I don't think I've ever seen the stewards asking the away fans to ever sit down :-/
Also, surely it's known that fans in the "North Stand" are mostly a bit more vibrant than the those in the East or the West??!!

Er? Normally the term JCL would be used but you seemed a sensible poster so didn't want to insult you and i was actually saying what i thought; i.e it was a good post with a seemingly unbiased view and that it should be put on ask the club.

Im a bit confused , on saturday no steward told us to sit down , not that we were doing this heinous crime much anyway , same tonight N1A apart from the 2 goals where you obviously get to your feet , so i asked the portly steward why they were enforcing it tonight and this was his reply and i shyte thee not " Its not raining tonight , it was saturday" , we all looked at each other and fell about laughing in a orderly fashion obviously , i was going to say pardon but by this time he had been lured away by a 10 year old twirling his scarf around to fast as it could have somebodies eye out !!!! kinel .
Hope the steward however his injury was caused is ok but frankly something like this was bound to happen sooner or later

Bloody stewards. North Stand should be a safe standing part of the stadium. Atmosphere will increase. People will enjoy it. Game is far more enjoyable and, most importantly, stewards can do f*** all if we stand and shout.

Perhaps such vitriol demonstrates the extreme limitations of these people to think or play their part in a civilised society. Think about what you've posted and consider whether it is acceptable? If not, make a public apology now. Alternatively, if you think it is ok, perhaps this football club is not for you and you are probably a closet palace fan!
Everyone knows that it was originally agreed that people standing in the rear four rows of the North Stand would be tolerated BUT NOWHERE ELSE. What is there not to understand about that. Continued non-compliance could jeopardise the Safety Certificate for the stadium and can be annoying for others. All-sweater stadia came about as a result of regular crushes and injuries and nothing couldn't have been worse than what happened to the 96 at Hillsborough.
The steward will have worked to instructions and he does not need abuse from the very thick people who think it is ok to abuse anyone. Stewards are there for people's safety, YOUR safety and do not need to be abused. If someone has hit a steward, they are not a football supporter, they are a Neanderthal thug. Again, they have shown just how thick they are to assault someone where there are so many CCTV cameras. It will be recorded and the evidence will be damning, I am pleased to say.
Don't make anyone out to be a martyr, they are simply a thug and a criminal and I look forward to them being dealt with by the Club and the criminal courts. Such people are the true scum and not worthy to support our great club.

It does sound like this has entered a vicious circle and it could descend into something like the fan v stewards stand-offs that were a feature of the latter Withdean years at the West end of the South Stand.
