What they didnt tell you is that they have followed this tradition for decades. the outgoing secretary leaves a not for the incoming. What is not traditional is leaking it to the press to make political capital.
What you've failed to mention, is that its also not traditional to leave a note childishly celebrating that "theres nothing left" , without a hint of remorse at spunking the money that TAXPAYERS contributed to the exchequer.

Did he stand on a ticket of nobbing your secretary and playing crocquet when supposed to be working then?
Christ, you're hard work. *sigh*

No. He didn't stand on that ticket. He also didn't stand on a "You must eat a bowl of cornflakes in the morning" ticket or a "You must wear a pink dressing gown" ticket either. Had he done so, I might have been interested to know what he ate for breakfast or his choice of bedroom attire. Similarly, I am only interested in whether or not you see fit to nob your secretary if you are standing on a ticket that suggests that having sex with somebody other than your spouse is completely the wrong thing to do in any circumstance, irrespective of adult consent, marital difficulties or whatever.

Do you understand yet? Do not espouse "family values" as specifically a Tory value which is what Major's government did, when all the while you are shafting Edwina Currie.

Why is that hypocritical? You simply choose to believe that he didn't mean what he said.

So praising the NHS for the care given to his son and then closing the dept that he was cared for in is OK then? Jesus Simsters right you are hard work or willfully ignorant

I think expecting a party that hadnt been in power for nearly a century to be aware of traditions is asking a bit much.

Yes we do know - there was the message left for Jim Callaghan which said 'sorry about the mess and I don't mean the office' which in the 1960s was perhaps a more risque comment than the 2010 one.

Especially as the saying 'im sorry there's no money' is usually the phrase most uttered by the treasury (of any hue) hence the irony of the comment.

Oh I'm sure that a helpful Tory would have helped the poor unknowing Mr Laws. Mind you, he clearly is a bit simple. Imagine fiddling his housing and thinking he could get away with it.

Didn't he do that to protect his boyfriend ? If we had come out with that excuse we would have been doing time and not back in the cabinet within 2 years

Indeed. If someone had fiddled their housing benefit on the same basis it would mean jail. Wasn't there a woman who did and got 6 months for less than half the money? That's okay because cms brought him back.

What are you talking about? Call me when Milliband is caught shagging Tessa Jowell.

Ooh, you are naughty! Could they POSSIBLY fancy each other?! Does anyone fancy either of them? Mind you, who would have thought anyone fancied either Major or Curry. Love story of the century, that one. Not.

Has no one shagged anyone else in your office or place of work? It's what I was saying earlier about hypocrisy. And the press demanding luring copy. And ending up with boring whiter-than-white politicians with no courage.

Ed is indeed a great speech maker. In my correspondence with him I have found him to be quite outstanding in his grasp of the countries issues. I love watching PM questions when he makes Cameron's face burst into uncontrolled red rage. Just makes me chuckle. I think he is very electable. As to how successful he will be as a Prime minster that will have to wait. He has the integrity of a Callaghan but hopefully a bit more steel after all his time in office opened a huge rift in the Labour Party, allowing this country to plunge into the hands of the she devil, from which we have never recovered to be a united nation.

The Government can't make the banks do anything. Banks are not political departments but money-lending scaredy-cats who feel that people and businesses cannot afford to repay their loans at this time. Hence, they are not lending.

That might have been true 5 years ago but the Government is now majority shareholder in a number of those banks. I feel they should have brought that influence to bear much more.
