A random act of kindness

Over there
Perform a random act of kindness tomorrow, no matter how small. And perform them as long and as often as you can. And if you feel the urge post your kindness ideas here, so that others get tips. It's not about ego it's about spreading the love.
I held the door open for several people at work and let 2 people jump in front of me in the lunch queue.

My good deed of the day tomorrow will be to turn up at work, almost on time, and do some of the things I am expected to do. Those lucky bastards won't even know what's hit 'em.

I just gave my bank details to an impoverished Nigerian so he could use Western Union to transfer $3,000,000 into my account, thus unlocking the inheritance from his deceased uncles estate. I will get to keep 30% of this for enabling the transfer. Once it all comes through, I will donate these proceeds to a charity which looks after children who have been affected by Bovril, or who still have Bovril in their lives.

If you watch the news everything in the world seems so depressing and hopeless - this is not the reality. Bad news sells.

You can make a difference by doing something positive for the people around you. I have to drive a fair amount for my job and some time ago I decided not to get annoyed by any thing, I let peple race pass, let poeple out of side roads, drive within the speed limit etc.etc. I feel so much happier throughout my day.

Spread the love (obviously not when you are anywhere near Smellhurst. There are limits!)

I've just done mine.

A Network Rail van was attempting to turn round by using the steep slope of our drive as the first part of a three-point-turn manoeuvre. Being as how the drive is covered in snow, all that happened next was a furious spinning of wheels, as the driver attempted to reverse.

My act of kindness was to ignore the struggling driver, rather than offer to help by giving him a push (or a shovel). He might have taken 10 minutes to escape, but at least I spared him the humiliation of having to admit to a stranger that he had been a complete fuckwit for even attempting the idiotic turn that he thought would be so simple.

He has kept his dignity. I feel good.
