The caterers are letting down the stadium

Love The Amex on the whole but I think the caterers are really letting down a fantastic stadium.

Long queues, running out of food, closing the bars in the 1901 club early, no choice any more for the sit-down meal in the 1901 lounge (and the vegetarian option I tried was laughably poor), crap hamburgers by most accounts, staff that haven't been trained properly if at all, no curry or noodles now for some reason even though they were promised and a lot of people fancied the idea etc etc

The only thing that is a roaring success are the pies, which they have nothing to do with other than putting them in the oven.

As far as I can make out, everything they do is aimed at keeping their costs as low as possible. It's annoying me because most other things about the Amex are spot on (and where they haven't been, the club has moved quickly to improve them).

Solution is to stick to the pies (if they haven't run out).

Cheeseburger was abject on Tuesday, though to be fair the pies smelt nice.

However I continue to insist anyone who has to stuff their face sitting next to me while I'm trying to enjoy the football shall be swiftly karate chopped in the face.

I've only experienced the steak + ale pie, east stand, it was stone cold. But I ate it in the AMEX, with my 4 year old son attending his first ever game of football, wearing the stripes with his name on the back...so I LOVED it!

It's early days , they will sort it out and hopefully the long queues for the train . Lets hope by October/November this will all be just a memory.
Last night I was served in the WSL by a girl being instructed by her supervisor who in turn was being instructed by his supervisor .

I'm not a regular diner but the 1901 dining has radically changed.

When I went to the presentation the options were fine dining (multiple choices at a time to suit you and your guests), a buffet and 'concourse' snacks and you could move onto the concourse if you wanted.

Now, it's just a fixed option fixed time meal masquerading as fine dining and pies..and you cannot go elsewhere to get food.

If I'd signed up for a fine dining season ticket I'd be really pissed off.

I've not had a hot dog but the caterers originally said these were to be made with prime Sussex sausages. Is this true?

Talking from experience, a new restaurant/menu rarely starts at full tilt. I would expect options to be added and times to be relaxed

would also be nice of they could sell bottled water from those mobile 'beer bag' vendors that patrol the concourse. standing in a huge queue for 20 mins for a bottle of water... might give it a miss.

Forgive me for not giving a shit about those thoughts.

Yep. I've never been bothered about eating at the football before. But one reason for forking out £1400 a year was because the facilities sounded fantastic. The lounge is as great as promised.. but Azure shut all the bars at 10pm last night. And there's no middle ground at all between a £38 a head sit-down meal (with no choice offered) or a pie. Again, pretty crap. I suppose that's what annoys me. In fact, in the 1901 you can't even get the pie and a pint deal thats available everywhere else in the ground.

People are paying premium prices for the least amount of choice.

I know a lot of people on here will take a perverse pleasure in that but I think the club need to start getting Azure to sort it out. This side of things is a big money maker and that benefits everyone in the long run.

this is the 4th game in a row people have reported this - and frankly as an outsourced service, the club should be pissed off at the service they're receiving. do the training in the day and ensure the service is as good as possible.
