Nothing like a good alliterative thread title as me ol' mum always used to say.

I keep reading posts about Peterborough being a real threat and catching us.

I am honestly confused as to why we should be worried about them? Six points clear and two games in hand; the bulk of our remaining games against mid/bottom table sides. I don't see why anybody is fretting.

I'm sure Gus and The Boys ain't. :bhasign:

I was hoping to wrap promotion up with four games to spare as we do have some tricky fixtures towards the end.

People kept banging on about it being a low points total this year and i knew this wouldn't be the case. I remember Lord B say 80pts would be enough. When has that really ever happened?

It's going to be pretty high in my books. 88-89pts to clinch 2nd spot.

It did look this way at the start of February but both Saints ans Boro have hit solid form. I knew one team would burst out of nowhere but the fact there are two worries me.

sounds about right.......83 points going in to the beginning of April, we will be on 90 points+ before the game against the south coast club

I posted this the other day but it bears repeating. We need 21 points to get to 92 (the target that Gus has set) with 12 games remaining. Last season our last 12 games yielded 21 points and we weren't as good as we are now.

You always find a team for two finding hot form. Look at Millwall last year. They went on a brilliant run and just missed out on auto.Same with Swindon.

We are are own worst enemy by worrying - listen to Gus.

And also trust Gus as everything will be alright.

When it's put like that it seems rather reasonable - 7 wins from 12 games, most of which agsinst lower teams. However, I'm not counting those chicks yet. I was thinking if we can win the next 3, against Oldham, County and Swindon, things should look very healthy indeed.

Southampton and Huddersfield must a bit worried neither will want the lottery of the play offs but with Posh bang on form and only a point with game in hand on Huddersfield could all get very tight

Personally I really don't care what the other teams are doing as long as the Albion carry on as they are. Lets face it all of the other teams in the top six would rather be in our position than their own. 92 points to secure promotion, and hopefully the title.

2 Leyton Orient 6 5 1 0 14 5 +9 16
3 MK Dons 6 5 1 0 11 2 +9 16
4 Brighton 6 5 0 1 12 4 +8 15
5 Southampton 6 4 1 1 12 3 +9 13
6 Huddersfield 6 3 3 0 8 5 +3 12

12 Bournemouth 6 2 2 2 7 7 +0 8

Current form is pretty much true to the top runners with the exception of Bournemouth. What you'd expect at this time of the season? We've won 5/6 and can still only get 4th!

The point to make is that 2 of the 3 above us in this table have very little chance of catching us and the other one Peterborough still have to rely on us slipping up.

It might be because they have 2 or 3 of the best players in the league in Joe Lewis plus Craig Mackail-Smith and Boyd. Shame they have feck all defence though else might be a challenge.

The fact that 'Boro and 'Udders keep winning merely puts pressure on Stains, we just need to carry on as we are and there's no reason to suggest that we won't.
