Like many here i watched Q-time and after 60 mins what new things did i know about the Bnp ? Yes we have all heard about their race/immigration policy, but the have many councillors and 2 Mep,s what do we know of their other policies ? Some of us at work were talking about last nights programme and for me and i believe many others this was a wasted oppotunity to 'nail' the Bnp. Instead for what i saw was smude MP,s 'ganging' up on Griffin when they had a chance to pick him off. :albion2:

I wanted Dimbleby to ask and to get Griffin to talk about his favourite Boyzone track. A missed opportunity.

By rights it should not be a one off, so in a few months there will be another BNP rep, who may do a better job of representing the NP and perhaps there will be more of a discussion than a show trail?

I would like to see Barnbrook on QT. That is not saying that Griffin won the round. He didn't give a huge amount away, but I think Barnbrook would crumble.

Having said that, it is quite easy to hide your own views. Griffin is a born liar and he managed to conceal much of his loathsome beliefs, albeit unconvincingly.

they cut off the best question of the night, how do you reconcile immigrants that take on low paid jobs verses those "white natives" who dont bother. it goes stright to the heart of the matter ("taking our jobs") and i cant see how the nationalists can get out of that without looking as the rasicsts they are. pity.

..bnp up in the polls...

To 6%.

At this rate they'll have as many Westminster constituencies as the SNP sometime around 2018-19...

I couldn´t watch it (abroad) but the newspaper report I read said that Jack Straw claimed that the increase in votes for the BNP was down to MP´s expenses and nothing to do with immigration. Can this be true? If so Jack Straw is an even bigger wanker than even I gave him credit for being.

1 in 5 prepared to vote bnp.

You Gov for the dailey telegraph.

That was mentioned on the Breakfast news, it is a somewhat worrying statistic, I was left wondering what would have to happen to pursuade 20% of the electorate to vote for them.

The immigrants take on the low pay jobs because for them it's more than they can earn for similar work in thier own countries. Generally if a UK citizen took that job on they would get less than they currently receive in various benefits. Minimum wage is still very low. It doesn't really encourage a lot of people to jump out of the benefits system. Yes there are lazy people out there but there are also people that want to get off the system without being worse off.

The other important point to make is that those that attack the BNP from the smug self righteous Liberal point of view, in many ways do so because they are happy to use a pool of immigrant labour at rock bottom wages to undertake jobs that increase their profits. Their hypocrisy makes me puke. Look at me making loads of money and anti-racist to boot, laughing all the way to the bank. At least the left come from an ideological basis and a genuine desire to improve the lot of ordinary people's working conditions black and white.

The BNP are only here at the moment as the mainstream parties are frightened of tackling the immigration issue for fear of being labelled a racist. Whether it is right or wrong there are a great number of the electorate who have concerns over the level of immigrtation and so called 'erosion' of the British way of life (which nobody yet seems to be able to define!). UNtil the parties tackle these issue and engage these voters I can only see the BNP support growing.

As for QT the other night nobody left that show with any credibility and it was a complete broadcasting shables and a missed oppurtunity to openly discuss the various parties view on how they plan to tackle immigration and these insecurities.

BNP like the RESPECT party would raise the minimum wage to something like £8p/h, giving people enough money to live on and get rid of the unemployment problem

If minimum wage was increased to £8p/h many firms would be looking at cutting back the workforce as quickly as possible.
I worked at a big warehouse a few years back, packaging books for internet retailers like Amazon. The vast majority of the workforce were on minimum wage. If it had shot up by £3 overnight the firm would no doubt have looked at ways of replacing us with automated picking systems, as the marginal cost of bringing in the new tech would have been that much lower.
How is increasng the min wage to £8 an hour going to solve the unemployment problem? What new jobs would be created?

Don't forget some countries have a higher work ethic than us. And with the Euro v Pound situation, that argument doesn't really hold a lot of water.

I think the idea coming from the socialist respect party is tax the rich and rich companies to subsidise this so we could bring in a minimum £8ph. For example take a big chunk of tescos multi billion annual profits and spread it amongst the poorer people/companies. Share the wealth so on one is struggling. However the socialist ideology will never be realised sadly
