Just got Fifa10 and I am a bit shithouse to be honest. Please can you give me some tips?

1)How can you tackle without fouling too much?

2)All my corners seem to go straight to the defending team, how can I pick out my own players?

3)How do you do all the fancy tricks of backheels and other showboats?

Cheers NSC :albion2:

1) I just run into the player with the ball and it seems to do the trick.

2) I haven't sussed that one out myself yet.

3) Pipe down you fancy Dan, football is a MANS game, none of this flashy bollocks!

I'm playing as the ALBION in a League 1 SHITFEST (and yes, I am shit).

I got whupped 3-0 by Colchester, 4-0 by Leeds, but then I done Brentford 4-0, with a Forster hattrick. AND he ran off doing his waggy-finger celebration

:clap2:

SKILLS. Did you manage to keep 11 men on the pitch though?

I was complete shithouse but that was before I changed the camera angle! (Dong!) I have the camera on dynamic or something now and I actually score goals and stuff now!

Tip - Wait for Pro Evo, then buy that. Simple.

1) Running into them tackles better than sliding, but if sliding try going in front of them rather through them!!!

2) Don't know!

3) Wiggle your stick a bit. and read the manual..

The only trick i find most useful is knocking the ball on and skinning your defender.

hold the right joystick in the direction you're running and it will knock the ball on, the longer you hold the stick the further it will knock the ball forward.

I also find the 'tele' camera view the best as you can see more of the field.

I quite liked Fifa to start with (was a nice change from Pro Evo), but I'm getting pretty bored of it too. Far too many little things that annoy me about it - such as just being able to run into a player to get the ball back. Hadn't planned on getting Pro Eve but will be asking for it for my birthday now. Wish I had never strayed....

Holding x and r2 is the way i use to defend, all it does is closes them down then at any chance sticks a foot in and wins the ball, works very well for me, have never conceded more than 1 or 2 goals.
Use the left analogue stick to swing/swerve corners away from the keeper.
And for skills just play around with the l2 and the left analogue stick for a bit, or watch the skills demo when game is loading.

The edit mode is so good in PES that you can make any team/kit/player with ease. Or wait for an option file to do it for you (downloadable off PES fansites).

Master League is supposed to be amazing this year.

No it won't, but it'll have better graphics and gameplay.

Plus they are slowly nicking the licences one by one from FIFA.

This is true, Pro Evo has always been my choice but I did understand that FIFA have raised the bar somewhat recently and was now becoming the gamers choice!

Master League looks absolutely phenomenal, it's always been insanely addictive but they really have revamped it this time.

Also, a graphical comparison for anyone who haven't seen;
