Heres the article that has got me annoyed and i need a rant

ANGRY Barcelona stars have branded Chelsea a bunch of thugs.

The Spanish giants were left fuming after their Champions League semi-final first leg ended 0-0 in the Nou Camp on Tuesday.

They slated ref Wolfgang Stark for letting bad tackles go, snubbing a penalty and for not sending off Michael Ballack.

Barca ace Xavi said: “It’s an outrage. There were scandalous incidents. Chelsea players made challenges that were clear bookings and the referee didn’t blow for a foul.

“In one of them he booked Yaya Toure for protesting his rival didn’t get a booking for a bad foul from behind.

“There was a team that wanted to play and another that didn’t.

“It’s a pity. In England they talk about fair play so much. It’s a shame they don’t put that talk into practice.

“There was no fair play from Chelsea at all. We played football, they did not play anything at all.”

Jose Bosingwa pulled Thierry Henry down in the box after 70 minutes but Stark waved it off. Soon after he failed to book Ballack for the second time for bringing Andres Iniesta down from behind.

And Xavi added: “The Ballack challenge was a blatant red card but the referee did nothing.

“We had them holed up in their own penalty area. They did not create a single chance.”

Toure said: “The referee was more than sad. It seems he came here to help Chelsea.

“Players like Ballack and John Obi Mikel committed so many fouls and didn’t even get a yellow.”

But bullish Barcelona defender Gerard Pique said: “With our team we can win anywhere.”

This coming from the team who dive like little girls at every challenge that idiot dani alves for example is an utter disgrace he rolls around on the floor like he has been shot looks at referee see's he hasnt given anything and gets up and starts running around again.
These softy overrated greasepots don't seem to understand is that football is a man's game and that the point of fair play is not to let your opponent pass the ball around and back until everyone gets dizzy and then let them score. It's not Chelsea players' fault that Barca 'stars' spend the total of zero minutes in the gym and that, apart from Yaya Toure and Puyol, they all have the physical strength of a three-legged asthmatic cat with flu.

I just think it shows the huge gulf in quality between the top Premiership teams & their respective counterparts in Europe...

Chelsea made Barca look like an average middle of the table Premiership team on Tuesday and that's with the latter having some so called "world class" players.

Why? Because they couldn't beat a team with 10 men behind the ball, and a keeper on fine form?

A lot of hot air about nothing.

And Barcelona did NOT look like an average Premiership team on Tuesday. They had over 70% of possession which is staggering and kept the ball better than any club side I've ever seen.

The worst dive was by Drogba but that went completely uncommented
Chelsea were niggling little bastards and were lucky to not get a man sent off
And i really don't see how that match shows the superiority of the premiership. Having to play incredibly defensive and negative football, but even then still be be very lucky to get away with a draw, doesn't illustrate much to me

Chelsea were a disgrace and none more so than Drogba. All that is bad about Premisership footballers, he constantly cheats, is lazy, and is unfailingly arrogant. Ballack was a close second. They deserve to get hammered in the second leg when surely they cant be so negative

No,
Because if you watch spanish football its nowhere near the same as english football theres far more diving and acting up to the referee, also you will notice that the tackles made there are very few and far between

Compare this to the premier league where you have a mix between both we have players like John terry , Vidic Ect who are warriors and would take a blow to then head to stop a ball getting in the back of the net, then we have players such as ronaldo who are like the entire barcelona team

I Just think in our country we have a great mixture between talent and toughness in our top teams where as spainish top sides have talent no doubt about it but very few players with the toughness of JT ect.

We saw it with Real Madrid VS Liverpool the Spaniards were just outfought in all areas of the pitch both legs thus losing the game, the same happened yesterday for sure chelsea didnt do it pretty but they did what they had to and challenges like the ones in that match are seen every week in the english league.
Plus i wouldnt say they could blame the referee for thinking they were play acting i sometimes think im watching a play instead of football when i watch spanish football

Just my opinion anyway.

the ref last night should ref in every game ever, he only blew for blatant fouls and told all the divers to just get up and get on with it....even if Ronaldo did deserve a booking for one blatant dive. Great reffing I thought

What a crock of shit. Football is the art of both attacking AND defending. Chelsea stoped a team from scoring that hadn't failed to score at home all season!

What were they supposed to do, stand back and admire the wonder of Barca's attack and let them rack up a dozen goals just to entertain people?

The two semi-finals have really reinforced to me why I prefer watching Spanish or Championship football and not Premiership matches

Perhaps but you fail to comment on Dani alves and his discraceful dives, Plus you name me a team in europe that would go hell for leather in the away leg of a 2 legged fixture? there is no team in the world that would be as crazy as to go all out attack in the away leg im afraid ESPECIALLY in the semi's.

Fair play to Hiddink and Chelsea. They did something no other club has done for ages and that's stop Barca scoring at home. However, it doesn't make for good viewing.

Sounds like some of the Barca players are starting to believe their own hype. Did they really expect Chelsea to turn up and roll over to have their tummies tickled ? Some of the antics of the Barca players, in particular Alves, was absolutely laughable.

Bunch of faggots.

I find it a little sad that one of the richest teams in the world doesn't have the guts to try and play football.
There's nothing wrong with defensive football, like the classic Italian way of playing but that requires you to keep possession of the ball and be organised. What Chelsea did was if in doubt get it out, aimless long balls to an isolated lone striker, coupled with niggly fouls.

They're absolutely right, Chelsea went there to defend and get a 0-0 draw, which they did. It's called tactics, when you're away to a team who have scored 140 goals this season, why would you make it easy for them to beat you?! Get a grip Xavi, and Barcelona.

It was cack to watch, but ultimately that's not what really matters.

Why would i comment on his dives? I commented on Drogba's because it was my far the worst. I don't think they should have gone all out attack, but I think it's a bit of a sad when they have to play so negatively and can't really achieve that.
