Robinson suffered a fractured metatarsal midway through the first half, and played on until the 79th minute ... so some consideration should be given there surely?

kuipers - 5. decent stops, could have done better with the first
el-abd - 5. poor sod. every week he seems to play in a different position
elphick - 4. didnt look as good alongside butters due to the fact he was the sweeping defender
butters - 3. too slow now
lynch - 2. awful. most over rated player in brighton history?
robinson - 3. completely ineffective. IF he was injured, why the hell did he continue playing?
reid - 4. half the player he was on tuesday
fraser - 3. did he play a forward pass?
cox - 5. got down the line, but still loses vital seconds by cutting inside
revell - 3. got a goal, did nothing else. gave away possesion too cheaply
forster - 3. long balls forward do nothing for him

Kuipers 6 - some good saves, neither good nor bad. Some early throws to left wing were hard to explain.

El-Abd 6 - really played well considering. Positionally sound and few of his usual howlers.

Elphick 4 - learning but in a team playing badly yesterday, he went AWOL

Butters 5 - strong in the air, but poor when they got behind us. Could have given Lynch more encouragement after two howlers.
(Rents 3) - really poor.

Lynch 2 - absolute mare. Sad sight though was seeing him soak up the crap he must have been getting with no obvious support from his team mates.

Robinson 4 - invisible, knocked off the ball too easily, watches as a Div 2 midfield bossed the game.
(Elder 6) - promising and one or two good efforts in the box. But no end product.

Reid 5 - needs a hard man to be at his best. tried to put his foot on the ball, but too often facing away from the oppo goal.

Fraser 4 - his worst game for ages.
(Loft 3) - poor

Cox 5 - did OK in fact, esp considering his broken foot. But their right back knew he was going to cut inside each time. No left foot makes him predictable.

Revell 6 - won quite a few headers but no midfield support. Scored a good goal. has more pace and control than Bas - think he did alright.

Forster 6 - can't do it all by himself. Resorted to long range shots in the end. Was clearly frustrated from the start (very odd rant at Fraser in the warm up). But liked the way the effort of the team increased when he got the arm band.

Deano 5 - should have known how to deal with Mansfield no matter how badly players were doing, but threadbare cupboard was there for all to see.

Crowd 3 - should be ashamed of themselves. Worst I can remember at Withdean.

Just how many injuries did we pick up?

Kuipers 6 Kept us in it with a couple of decent saves when you'd have thought they would score.
El-Abd 6 Should have done better when he burst into the area in the first half and actually had a shot. The only one of the back four not to look like a total arse.
Elphick 5 Gave the ball away too easily and was poor in the air
Butters 4 Slow, clearly carrying an injury from early on, but as captain needs to encourage players more so their heads don't drop.
Lynch 3 Poor at left back, clearly hadn't recovered from the virus he had, looked better when he moved to centre back for the second half.
Robinson 3 Poor for most of the game, he should have been more honest about the injury if it was affecting his performance and told the bench he needed to come off.
Reid 4 Needed a better partner in midfield, struggled to create anything.
Fraser 3 Don't think I've seen him look as poor as he did yesterday, the only time he got stuck in he won the free kick that lead to our goal, this didn't encourage him like it should have done though. Maybe like Lynch he hasn't recovered from the virus.
Cox 5 Good delivery for the free kick but is wasted on the left as he needs to cut inside and get the ball on his right foot too often.
Revell 5 Took his goal well but didn't have a first touch when needed.
Forster 6 Vocal and supportive of other team mates when he got the arm band but we need to play to his strengths more.

Subs
Rents 4 Gave the ball away to cheaply when playing left back, should have switched with Cox and played left midfield when we went 3 at the back.
Loft 3 Did he really touch the ball, lacking his normal energy it seems.
Elder 5 Seemed to be up for it when he came on and lifted the team into actually trying something, forced a good save out of their keeper with a good header.

possibly - but it begs the question why the hell wasnt he taken off?

The bench knew he was in pain because he was pouring cold water over his foot during a break in the game (I think when El Abd was getting treatment) I commented on it at the time wondering if he was injured.

Kuipers - 7 - some good stops
El-abd - 6 - not a bad backpass in sight
Elphick - 5 - gradually got better
Butters - 5 - looking a bit too slow now, but good in the air
Lynch - 2 - oh dear
Robinson - 2 - didn't make any impact at all
Fraser - 3 - cannot play a forward pass at all
Reid - 2 - shocking, quite a contrast from the other day
Cox - 5 - our brightest thing going forward, but so many crosses to nobody and his passing was poor. No left foot - should have gone over to right wing
Revell - 4 - one goal, bugger all else. Although that's admittedly more than the rest of them!
Forster - 3 - dreadful

Elder - 5 - came on and tried
Loft - 3 - looked scared to be out there
Rents - 3 - not his fault, but Right wing? A comical wilkins decision
