I just don't like that sort of 'challenge' being considered a foul. Gordon isn't trying to play the ball, he is just trying to get his foot in the way of the Wet Ham defender's already swinging leg. If you jump into the path of an player's swinging leg you're the one making contact, not them.

That Paqueta is a terrific player but he’s so frustrating, that’s three times now in 30 minutes he’s gone down and stayed down, twice getting lengthy treatment from the most innocuous tiny knocks.

Newcastles tactic of 'running into people' going really well...

Penalty...check
Opposition yellow...check

Sending off next on Smugs bingo card

Possibly the ‘cleverest’ player in the PL right now. He’s also mastered the art of fouling without giving away free kicks or getting yellows for actual fouls as evidenced at Wembley last week.

It’s just frustrating because he doesn’t need to do it. They had a really good counter attack on, and he stayed out forcing his own team to put it out of play. Just get up and use your ability!!!

Oh what a shame Smug Eddie's tactics of getting defenders to stay down holding their head to delay game gets what it deserves
This :lolol:

F**k you Newcastle, that’s for every fake injury since Smeddie took over.

Re: that quick free kick, I think a similar earlier decision which West Ham (and Moyes) weren’t happy about was fresh in the referee’s mind. He stopped a quick free kick in their own half just ten minutes or so prior.

Perfectly legitimate goal by the way, Schär wasn’t hurt, it was clearly a game delaying tactic which to be fair both teams have done consistently since the first whistle.

It’s a good game despite the shithousery from both sides, but you can see why he played 13(!) minutes added time

Glad the ref stuck to his guns there. He allowed the quick free kick, I wish more refs would do the same. Player stays down after fouling his opponent. Tough
Unless it's against us.

As then we'd be chanting 'De Zerbi's right the refs are shite' & 'The Premier League's corrupt'.
