The council is thinking of bringing back the controversial weed killer glyphosate.

The herbicide was banned in Brighton and Hove by the Greens more than four years ago because of fears it was linked to cancer.

This will piss the magnificent 7 (Green Cllrs) off…

What was the purpose of this thread ?

Also, it wouldn't have been 'banned by the Greens'. The decision would have been made by the City Environment Committee which wouldn't have had a majority Green representation.

Not a good idea to take The Argus at face value.

To inform the NSC residents of B & H that maybe we might see and end to the weeds at last 😉
All well and good if proper information is applied when giving background.

Given they only have 7 councillors left I’m not quite sure why you’re asking that. They’re not in charge any more.
They never were properly in charge. Although when something went wrong they were :ROFLMAO:

I didn’t take it at face value that’s just a copy of the Argus story, and it will piss the greens off, all 7 of them

Did the Argus say 'it will piss the Greens off' ?

Mind you, they might as well have said that. They managed to peddle so many subtle lies about them over the years.

Not sure why the Council/local councillors/ residents associations, etc, etc don’t encourage volunteer days where the more fit and able residents give up a bit of time on selected days to clear pavement weeds, cut back untidy growth around trees, etc and leave the rubbish at council collection points. Id happily do it for elderly neighbours and would be more likely to do it with permission.

Ps - I’d also do it for lazy neighbours because after all its not their property but we all have to use it

I agree. It's a problem generally in society that folks expect everything to be done for them. People in other countries must look at it somewhat baffled. I'd join a road taskforce for something like that.
