The way to answer all the Chelsea plastics who are gloating because he has signed a new contract.

“ Your club has had to pay a 19 year old, with 13 PL starts, none of which were for you, £100,000 a week to stop him joining Brighton “

It’s cost you 5.2 million pounds per annum to keep your own player.
Good point although I don’t think Chelsea fans care about how much money it cost to buy their next trophy. If they went bust in a year they would all move on to the next successful club and repeat the cycle.
I know some old school Chelsea fans who hate all this and are waiting patiently for it to all go tits up so the plastics f*** off.

Getting absolute pelters on Twitter (X) from all sorts of Chelsea accounts including ones with large followings. Wonder how the lads taking it and if we will see his name pop up for us again, perhaps in the summer.

Why do they play him at left back? He's a classy centre back, but full back requires very different skills.
I think because Chilwell is injured and the other option is another former Brighton defender who looked good in our side but utter trash since moving

It looked like they targetted him specifically for the goal last night. The ball was played down the channel on his side and he was easily beaten for pace. They'd tried the same thing a couple of times before too.

If he's prepared to take a pay cut, might be worth a cheeky £20m bid
You can see on this face he hates playing for that toxic club. Chelsea had to offer him a king’s ransom to stay but is his new found riches compensating for being at such a toxic club?

He got the money but his career is tailing off. It’s looking like Southgate will shun him too which is astonishing for a Big Six English player. I bet he wishes that he was back here.

It’s possible Chelsea need to sell before they buy so why not bid? RDZ desperately wanted him (we bid £40m? right?).

Definitely worth making a bid for him. Let's remind him of last season, of RDZ and the club in general. See how he takes that given the absolute filth he's getting from Chelsea 'fans' right now.

Sometimes wonder what they expect. He’s 20 years old, playing out of position as he is clearly a CB not a LB, playing under a coach who is over hyped in my opinion. The confidence he built from being he last season slowly being eaten away at but a self entitled fans base who couldn’t believe we had the cheek to bid only £40 million but are no doubt willing to drive him here for free now.

Why would we want him, he's looked crap whenever I've seen him play (on the TV in highlights) this season. We have better, and could do better.
Some of the worlds best players have gone to that horrible, toxic club and been written off by their vile fans. See Kevin De Bruyne and Mo Salah. Levi Colwill is the future of England’s defence at left centre back and if there was ever a chance of signing him we absolutely should not even question it.

We know how good Levi is, we saw it last season.

He's playing badly out of position at a toxic shit hole of a club. That doesn't change that he's a good player.

If anything it just brings his value down so that we might be able to afford to bid for him. Keep stinking the place out Levi and we'll have you back after.

Not to do down Igor who has exceeded expectations, but to have Levi back would be very beneficial to us.

Worth a cheeky bid?
I'm not sure it would suit all parties.

He'll want to be in the 1st choice CB pairing (I assume - he's playing every game now, albeit at LB).

Who makes way - Dunk or JPvH?

With Igor as first reserve and also Webby back fit, would we want to rock the squad boat by bringing him in? (Webster could be sold I guess). Still young of course, so the player potential and resale values are both high.

There is also the age old WAGES issue after his new deal at Chelsea. This, and the transfer fee with them needing their academy sales to ease FFP problems as much as possible (other than Colwill I think it's only Maatsen, Gallagher and James left who would attract a reasonable fee).

I have no doubt that signing him would improve the depth of our squad, but the knock-on effects could reduce the benefit?

Big fee and big wages for a player we are not desperate for...?

Not for me, Clive.

Obvs, if RdZ knows the squad would welcome him (and the competition for places he'd bring) with open arms, then I'm all in! 😄

Rdz loves colwill. I think he'd quite happily swap Webster for colwill in our squad. That would give him 2 left footed centre backs and 2 right footed.

With the number of injuries/suspensions/games we play there's plenty of playing time available.

We've also used 3 at the back and Igor at lb so I don't see any issues with game time.

The obvious and dull caveat is wages as it always is but if it were doable id be all for it. An added bonus would be getting him for a knock down price from Chelsea and then them losing their shit(again) when he goes back to being a top quality player and England regular.

We may now not want him?, but won't be based on his out of position form for a toxic club that ruins footballers. Caicedo too looks a fraction of the player he was here.

No Colwill isn't required because of the stunning rise of JPVH, who has made that spot next to Dunk his own with superb performances.

Colwill or JPVH?

That's the question.

JPVH has earnt the right to remain first choice alongside Dunk……would he have had that chance if Colwill had stayed ..hmmm

A testament to the coaching there.
I wonder if Caicedo is enjoying his football as much as last season?
