Buddhism allows drinking alcohol!
No it doesn't. Specifically, the Buddhism she took her oath as an MP on - the book of Buddhist scripture Dhammapada.

What are the 5 precepts in Buddhism?

The Five Precepts
  • to abstain from taking life.
  • to abstain from taking what is not given.
  • to abstain from sensuous misconduct.
  • to abstain from false speech.
  • to abstain from intoxicants as tending to cloud the mind.
Note that this is not evidence that she doesn't take alcohol, but I would think she's safe from 'sensuous misconduct'.

Are Buddhists not the 'don't not wish or inflict harm on any living creature' chaps?

There's not a chance this evil sadist is a Buddhist. She might claim to to be so, but that doesn't mean she is in practice .
That’s the one! Although in parts of SE Asia Bhuddism is somewhat bastardized.

My wife and son are both Buddhists. Only monks adhere to the above. Alcohol is certainly allowed among the general population.

Ah but don't forget that supposedly " Christian " Tory MP's are happy about the rise in food banks! Religion is just what's on the birth certificate, not what's in the heart for this lot.

That was my point in an earlier post. She claims to be a Buddhist, or at least took her oath as an MP on it. Her actions don't live up to those claims.

Stunning attack on a sitting PM. She's going all in for the leadership and I really don't think she cares about how much it splits the Party...Just so long as she sits atop the smouldering ruin thats left...she's fing mad !
Totally expected - don’t how anyone would not have seen that coming tbh!

It was foreseeable several days ago that not only would she probably be sacked but if she was, it would be a rally cry to the right of the Party and a basis from which she will launch a back bench right wing attack on Sunak and in doing so, deepen the internal rifts between the left and the right of the party even more. Sunak bringing Cameron in was purely to strengthen moderate/left support for the Cabinet/PM from within the Party to fend off the anticipated right wing push back - also to strengthen his own position in the event of any vote of no confidence or subsequent leadership challenge. Sunak sacking Braverman and bringing Cameron in may also have just given the Tories the boost they needed to stand a chance of winning the next GE.

Something about her letter makes me think she's a bit p**sed off that she was sacked!

She represents a particularly type of narcissistic politician that smashes everything into small pieces and picks up her own tiny fragment and thinks it's the whole.

This type of approach is generally described as populism.

Look at the polls Sue Ellen (*)

In that case, I will bow to your first hand experience. Some Buddhists drink alcohol !
If you ever get invited to a Buddhist wedding you’ll know what I mean!

I would get stuck in, and then fall asleep after an hour or two. My usual trick.
But I wonder how our Suella would handle it? Would she become a lovely, soft, gentle woman?

Or would she become akin to a brooding volcano? My money's on the latter.
I heard on the BBC news that there is going to be an exercise in drip feeding the anti-Sunak news in the coming days and weeks.
Something to look forward to during the international break....

This bit beggars belief, not sure if she's completely lacking in self awareness, or being deliberately ironic in a really not very funny way.

Well at least no one on NSC was surprised about how Braverman worked out as they were warned when she was first appointed as a junior Brexit minister well over 5 years ago, way before her and the rest of this cabal were elected into power

My concern is that she keeps returning. It seems like we can't ever truly get rid of her, like athlete's foot.
