Imagine if we as a country (and our leaders as a Government) could deal with pretty much any issue affecting its people with as much vigour and fury as we seem to be able to muster to deal with whether Nigel Farage can bank at f***ing Coutts
EFA.

Ah well, at least there's a whole section of social media who have becoming banking experts overnight. To add to their qualifications in vaccines, trade and whatever other countless divisive topics we've had to endure (directly or indirectly) over the past months/years.

Coutts is a private bank for the privileged, it’s entirely up to them who they have as customers as long as they don’t break any laws. If they choose to not have certain gobshites as customers so be it, the same as if I ran a business and didn’t want certain types darkening my door.
Oh Well. Another pivot to a poor argument which again does not address the discussions we were having. I’ll leave it there.
Just consider that he already was a member of Coutts.

Thanks a lot Coutts.

You have made rentagob relevant again.

NF will dine out on this for months.......
Oh this in Spades. Just because he actually had a valid point for once he's milking it for all he's worth. His demand that the entire board resign is both pathetic and bombastic.

I feel even worse about sticking up for him yesterday. It's a tough gig this 'Even-handed' malarkey.

i dont understand why more people can get this point, it's not a regular bank, its a members club with selective criteria. if we read the dossier (it's raining) it's apparent he's reviewed regularly and kept on as a courtesy. it's also clear the exit was coming. all this fuss is because the CEO divulged some info they shouldnt have, if that hadn't happened he'd have quietly moved to a Natwest account.

I'm not sure you can blame the banks for the Covid loans disaster, that was down to government incompetence as they set out the rules.

I am sure you pointed this out at the time whilst it was all being rushed through because it was being demanded as people were denied the ability to work/run a business, we both no you didnt.

Perhaps this helps explain why Farage sat on the issue for two months before whinging. We’ve been played by this creep and his mates yet again. And still some line up to defend him.

Well, who is to blame for that?

Lies from the bank, doubled down on by the Guardian and BBC.

Bravo, would be done now if they just said sorry for a misunderstanding of gave him a natwest account straight away

Or if he'd mentioned it a couple of months ago when it actually happened?

The more this goes on, the more appalled I am by the awful behaviour of Rose in this matter.

Rightly she has not come out of this smelling of roses by any means, and it will harm both the bank and the integrity of the industry as a whole.

Why? The board backed someone who potentially broke the law and GDPR. It's a clear case of gross misconduct.

By backing DAR they have endorsed her behaviour of leaking to a journalist. It's groupthink of the worst form.

Shows what a cosy club the banking system is. The lot of them should have gone to prison after 2008 and what they did to working people in this country.

Same thing would have happened, wouldn't it?
He can't have anticipated he would be gifted this opportunity by Rose, surely? If she had said nothing Farrage would have been left pissing into the wind.

The Grand Hotel is part of a private hotel chain for the privileged, is it entirely up to them also which law abiding and previous guests are allowed to return and which are banned or offered the travelodge as an alternative?

What if they leaked all your private, confidential info to the national press who ran an article and claimed you couldn't anymore afford the rooms, when you could.

But as hotel owners were former Eton Tory toffs, they had a dossier that the real resom was they just didn't like you because you were a gay rights activist, or a hardcore leftwing union activist/protestor?

Would that also be deemed an acceptable choice by the Grand?

Nah, I thought not.

Well well well, an individual started shorting natwest in early 2023, months before Alison Rose met the BBC and this story came to light and I decide to try on twitter to create some fictitous narrative, that suits my agenda?

It's usually one of the staff that leak stories to the press, not the owners.
A famous person smashes up hotel room was a frequent story for the tabloids.

I'm not sure that exactly happened. The person (who needed to go) gave an incorrect opinion on why the account was closed.

As for the "personal" information, that was splashed all over the press by Farage himself.

It was actually a gift for him because he's used it to promote himself, his politics and his employers television channel. He also if the of the belief that the City of London is undermining Brexit rather than admit to himself it was a shit idea all along.

It also feeds his supporters paranoia about the myth of being "cancelled", where in reality he (and they) haven't shut up since it happened.

Which includes our present prime minister, who worked with the hedge fund TCI, signing on with Chris Hohn’s Children’s Investment Fund Management, becoming a partner in September 2006 and staying until November 2009.

Any publicity is good publicity.
