How's everyone doing getting their deliveries?

Understand the issues for postal deliveries but everything I've ordered (excluding Amazon), even paying extra for next day etc, has been delayed. The only one who has constant success is Amazon who have delivered everything on time. Evri and DHL are useless.

Only royal mail delays here.

Evri are superb for us as usual maybe because the local driver has cottoned onto us working from home so knocks to delivers neighbours packages. Amazon as you say faultless

Our Evri driver is great. Lives in the village so knows a lot of people. Uses the village Facebook page if he has trouble delivering (had 2 yesterday without a proper address on) and keeps the parcel in his van for a couple of days to allow a response. Likewise if you have an issue you can get hold of him that way and he will chase things up for you.

Not had any issues. Our local EVRI man also does the NEXT deliveries so given how much Mrs DCH buys online, I know Michael very well and he knows where to hide deliveries if I am out or stuck in work meetings.

Evri  F****** useless in my area.
Ordered something recently, message received from Evri that it’s on its way to the local depot or whatever, various other messages about letting me know that it’s going to be delivered (no tracking details for time or date though) then they send a message about an hour before delivery saying when it’s going to be delivered……..do this earlier you f******* idiots so I can maybe stay in.
Message then received saying it’s been delivered with a photo of a parcel in a letterbox…..not my letterbox though :wrong: I had to walk around my road looking at various letterboxes looking at the photo on my phone to see where it had gone. The driver had pushed it through the letterbox of an empty house…..FFS

This was the last straw with this shower of shite company, various other issues in the past but they don’t seem bothered if anyone complains.

Can't fault Amazon deliveries. Or the postie. Not too many positive experiences of many other delivery firms. They tend to just sling it somewhere in the same postcode, take a quick photo then leg it

How soon is now?
Other than the postal service I thought we were doing ok, but DPD have just turned up and dropped a parcel down the driveway next to the bins. And then put card through the letterbox. I'm in!!
He didn't even try to make the delivery, which in this instance would have been quicker

Reckon online companies should be made to declare up front which delivery company they use. Then we could place our orders accordingly

Absolute carnage.

Never known it to be so bad. Account manager at DPD told us that the strikes with RM/PF have hit them hard. I have slight sympathy, but they do not help themselves with the extra work that they take on. We got sent an Excel spreadsheet where deliveries to 2774 postcodes were being suspended with DPD because of the severe backlog which they currently have.

Classic line from customers is 'I know it's not your fault but...'

Been lucky with DPD as the driver in our area lives round the corner - only issue is it’s normally on the last batch of the day because of this!

Evri and DHL have actually been alright here as well.

Thankfully sorted presents a few weeks back so no stress

Hove actually
Was charged for express delivery regardless of whether or not I wanted too. DPD stated that package on it's way on 14th and followed by your package will be delivered later that day. Still waiting. Contacted supplier and stated that if not received by Sunday morning latest I would be looking for a refund on the delivery. Tumbleweed response!

Yea, DPD are usually pretty good.
But... I need medical supplies every 40 days, so ordered in advance anticipating a rush at this time of year. No show from DPD. Picked up from hospital an emergency supply. Lasted 5 days, still no show from DPD. Back to hospital for more emergency supplies. Down to 1 day supply before a (different) courier brought them to me.
Unusual for them, usually pretty good, but not overly chuffed this time...

This Monday at work we sent out 300+ orders on Monday and have probably hovered around 60-80 orders every other day this week.

Next week DPD have capped us at 160 collections on Monday, 74 on Tuesday and 6 for Wednesday. On top of that the amount of customer complaints we’ve had has gone through the roof. We’ve also had 2/3 days where they’ve just called us and told us we won’t have a collection that day.

The Royal Mail strikes, the Christmas rush & now the weather are all factors but they don’t help themselves either sometimes.

And another thing is, you do everything you can to get orders out on time, and there's always some arseholes that give you bad reputation because their orders don't arrive on time.
Ah well, that's life I guess.

Placed an order with UPS on Sunday collected on Monday from home address and delivered Hailsham Tuesday morning. Small suitcase size parcel at £10.10 and £2-50 of that was for a home pick up.
