I think we all know there's jiggery pokery going on - I read an article on the subject yesterday, one individual who was commenting claimed they 'routinely' got it in 3, 'sometimes' 2. Okay mate, sure.....

The average will be around 4. Being a tit can drag you down. I have been a tit (selected a letter that was already flagged as not there ) around 3 times. After that it is luck, and regression to the mean (4) should take place.

I have a record of every answer that I update daily so I never start with a word that was previously the answer. I have tried to select letters different from recent answers but I think this is pointless as it is random. We have had consecutive answers that start with the same first 2 letters, after all.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. I am very interested to see if the distribution of tallies is Gaussian in the long run. It should be. If it isn't....I will consider the implications ???

This.
I use a similar technique as HWT (incidentally, is that the Harry Wilson now at Fulham and which tackle?) coupled with the same starter word to try to get off to a good start / eliminate as much as possible. But there is plenty more 'help' out there but that reduces the personal challenge and defeats the object IMO.

Lucky I just struck gold on 2, could have been any number of alternatives but went with my 1st guess
