That's complete bollocks. You simply can't blame Covid lockdowns for some people acting like *****...

Unfortunately there will always be a subset of society who think this sort of behaviour is acceptable, like having a fight on a Friday or Saturday night out boozing!

Maybe there’s an element of what and what you’ve both said ….either way the guy who nobbled the Sheff Utd player last night needs more than just a ground ban ..charged with assault?

Which backs up what a Forest supporting mate text me this morning. He can't get his head round it as Sharp always gets a good reception from the Forest fans.

Oh God yeah, it goes back to my original question, why can 29,999 fans enjoy themselves but inevitably ONE individual was going to be a ****?

I'm not blaming anything.

These people are bellends.

I think the cocaine angle possibly holds more water than the Covid one.

Its inevitably described as "out of character, got a good job, father of two, never been in trouble before, etc., etc., etc.."

at some point the guy has to take responsibility for his actions. There is an assumption he was either drunk or drugged or both he might not have been, if he were he made a choice to take them....

It's got to be something to do, psychologically speaking, with being locked up indoors for a large part of the last couple of years.

We had pitch invasions etc. before COVID but I don't recall there being this many nor of there being this much reported violence.

I know our players at 'Boro had a few fans in their faces but, to my knowledge, none of them got a thump.

David Stockdale was certainly assaulted a couple of times.

I don't think it's so black and white. That it's because of lockdown or it'\s because there are scrotes in society. There has been a few conversations recently, the ones I've seen are largely centred on stand up comedy (here and here), but audience behaviour post-lockdown has been noted as being worse.

Is it worse, or is it anecdotal. I'm sure it wouldn't take too much time to trawl the Internet for similar pre-Covid events.

People like to lay blame, at someone else's door, rather than accept responsibility that we have some scumbags walking amongst us, always have and always will.

Twatting a player on the field is just an extension of Abusing them on social media...

Just seems a mighty weird thing to do when you have just won.

I don't recall giving a moments thought about the Wigan players when we invaded the pitch. None whatsoever.

Hopefully he will get a decent stretch to serve as an example.

It wouldn't surprise me to hear find that people have been making excuses for this individual's (probably low-level) anti-social behaviour all his life thus far. And now we arrive at this point.

People who have been brought up with at least some semblance of a moral code, respect for others and an appreciation of consequences don't run 20 yards with the intent of inflicting unprovoked violence on a complete stranger.

This stuff is hardly surprising when the message from the very top is "Do whatever you feel like, whenever you want, you'll probably get away with it."

Disgusting wasn’t it. I hope there is not knee jerk reaction to pitch invasions as I believe that they are appropriate sometimes like when a team wins the EPL or gets promoted (but never at Wembley!).

Funny. I used to think pitch invasions were de rigeur in promotions and title wins too, but not any more. Players are too valuable to be exposed to the risks and it just seems to be the province of the 'look at me' generation. 'I'm not allowed, but I'm going to do it anyway'. It's just as much fun leaping up and down in the stands with your mates and family and safer for everyone.

I think there are real issues at the moment, the pitch invasions seem more aggressive than joyful, and flares smoke bombs mandatory

Forest and Sheffield United fans hate each other - it's a big rivalry on its own. I bet he wouldn't have acted like such a cock if they were playing any other team (except Derby and maybe Leicester).

The tubby 19 yo Leicester fan got 4 months in youth custody for attacking Forest players on the pitch earlier in the season. This div's actions seem a bit more violent (although he will plead accidental collision while running fast for the loo) tbf.

Something inevitable when the big events come around. Littlehampton for example. From crowds of 70 to 2000 or 3000 with their Vase run. Idiots go along to a local game and let fireworks off. Pretty sure they're not rank and file supporters and will be missing when they're having a struggle next season.

There are no excuses for his behaviour. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s acted just as cowardly before, probably outside a pub.

Bringing this thread a bit closer to home.

He doesn't seem that bothered about the ban though.
