Any thoughts as to the timing and thinking behind this El Presidente? Just seems like a bit of an odd and random thing to do ???

A cynic might say it’s an attempt to dilute some of the recommendations of the Fan Led Review, such as shadow boards and golden shares, by giving out some of the suggestions voluntarily.

I’m not a cynic though!

That is honestly my favorite home shirt in several years. Absolutely love it.

Quite a bit of what needs to be interpreted as a anti-stripes sentiment here... soon you'll be telling me that seagulls are filthy, loud, annoying and not very friendly birds...

I didn't mind the solid blue / pinstripes so much - but the execution just looked so cheap. Even in that publicity photo it looks like something from from the Final Reductions bin in Sports Direct.

Sounds to me like you've been living in Brighton and Hove for years!

Lewis Dunk said publically that he did not like the stripeless shirt, and that was a popular opinion in the dressing room.

Brighton factually.....
It didn't. And when I first started watching Brighton in 1966 the shirts were solid blue with white sleeves (the so-called 'Arsenal' style). To me that is still the proper Albion kit and stripes of any kind are a recent abomination.

And yes I know this view is a) unpopular and b) wrong. (We'd had stripes before).

I had one of these from Toffs, and wife washed it with some red shirt and turned the arms & collar pink !!
still angry about that, I loved it, really good quality, rigid stiff cotton.
it is no longer available (if anyone knows different and from where please post link here, thanks)

I wore that Toffs shirt to the birth of my son at the Sussex County at the end of the 90s. It still has the blood stains on the cuff where the midwife gave him to me:cool:

This is pointless as it can be changed if some red loving new owner wanted to.

However I wonder if they needed to do it to protect the brand? May have something to do with that. Remember they now have the word Albion registered for use on football activities. I wonder if the blue and white aspect may be added to that soon.
