Courage Challenge Cup

NSC Albion V Foxes Trust FC

Which is basically a game of Brighton fans against Leicester fans to raise money for the Rocking Horse Appeal for the Childrens Hospital in Brighton.

The game is at Leylands Park, Burgess Hill- home of Ryman League Burgess Hill Town on Sunday August 3rd. I will post directions when I get back from Barnet.

The game kicks off at 2pm and the turnstiles open at 12. There will be lunch for any players that want it. The bar will be open and there will be food available. Courage have very kindly sponsored this game so there will be plenty of beer available!

There will be a raffle and an auction, where there are some quite nice prizes. You may even see one or two familiar faces. :)

In the evening we will be going to the Cobblers Thumb pub in Brighton. Directions later. Everyone is welcome to join us. I have been given a budget for the players to go on the lash with!!:drink:

This is our squad if anyone cares:

1 Pete Griffin (Seagullible)
2 Dave McNiven (Razi)
3 Alan Morden (MORHBHA)

I just hope that the Foxes Trust send me a team list in time.

Will see you all for a :drink: in the Cobblers after....

Uncle Sams burgers are very nice. That is by Burgess Hil Station.

A while ago I had a chat with the landlord of the cobblers and he asked me (as he knew i was an Albion nut) how to get a fans game together between us and leicester. I pointed him in the direction of NSC so he has obviously got onto you guys. I might pop down the Cobblers that Evening then. Good luck fellas. I remember he was trying to get Micky Adams to ref the game but he told he on saturday night that he couldn't get him. Never mind, should be a good day anyway.

Just got back from the match. Excellent game - Leicester scored first, then we scored an equaliser ( by Fran Hagarty Junior!). We went 2-1 up (Womble) in the second half only to be thwarted about a minute before the final whistle by an equaliser from Leicester. It then went to penalties (too hot for extra time) and we finally lost in sudden death.

The turn-out was disappointing as it was a good afternoon out. It's a pity more people didn't make the effort to turn up. Well done to Fatboy & co for organising it - hopefully it was worth while for the Rocking Horse Appeal. I think all concerned enjoyed it.

Thanks to everyone who came-players, spectators, people that came to the pub, and T :censored: y.

It was a great day and we should have raised quite a lot of money for the Rockinghorse Appeal and for Keith Weller. I will find out exactly how much later.

It was a shame we didn't win. Me and Coxy are going to practice penalties when he gets back from his holiday.

I think this is where GayFC Wombles effort should have been, but his cheeky, 'pressure? what pressure?' approach fooled me into thinking he was just gonna re-spot the ball, so i missed his :(

then this chap steps up . . . . . and Seagullible is unlucky as the leicester player sends him the wrong way.

Hello Everyone...

Thanks to you all for making yesterday such a superb event. It was a shame we had to have a loser, but overall, the charities were the winners (Oh God, I'm sorry for that cheesy comment).

The pictures are superb, it's a shame our lot aren't so organised, (but most of them are far away from home, to be fair). Oh, and congratulations for winning all the Leicester prizes :-)

Here is my first ever post on NSC which is a bit of a sham as I’ve played for the team for a good couple of games!

I’m fairing up quite well after the 90mins + pens and then 6-a-side at five o’clock. Good pictures, I’m not sure about the “Glyn next . . cooly and calmly slots it home!” comment on my penalty, the camera obviously did not pickup the fresh brown patch on the back of my shorts

I really enjoyed the day and hope that it was worth the effort for the charity. Thanks to Fatboy and all involved for organizing it.

Apologies it has taken so long to post this message. I've been trying to catch up with real life after the frenetic activity leading up to the match and then the ensuing alcohol fuelled weekend (which finally came to a close at 01.00 on Tuesday morning in the Cobblers Thumb).

I just wanted to say a big, big thankyou to everyone from NSC who helped make last Sunday such a fantastic day.

Andy, thanks again for everything. The effort you put into the event was invaluable. To the many others who also contributed I'd like to express my gratitude.

It was a great day with many good memories and lots of new friendships made. We're definitely up for doing it all again next year. (Andy, let me know when you want to meet for a beer to talk about the 2004 charity cup)

Good luck this season - I thought Brighton looked really good on Monday night and I (along with many other Leicester fans) hope you cruise it back into Division 1.

All the best to everyone and thanks once again.
